Lisa went into the intensive care unit to see his mother, checked all her vital signs were normal, then exited.

The head nurse, Sister Lee, saw Lisa visit every hour and couldn't help but say: "Dr. Manoban, you can be rest assured, we're all watching over her. We'll be sure to tell you straight away if something happens. You don't have to constantly come back and forth."

"Sister Lee, I'm not worried..."

As Lisa was about to explain, Sister Lee laughed and interrupted, "I understand, we all know how filial Dr. Manoban is."

Lisa smiled embarrassingly, "I know you're very busy, I'll be going back first."

Once Lisa returned to the duty room, Jisoo similarly returned from the ward soon after.

"Are you on the day shift today?" Lisa asked Jisoo in surprise.

"I'm not, but that kid Eunwoo asked me to cover for him. He said he wanted to watch a movie with his girlfriend," Jisoo said. "Besides, I'm just a lonely bachelor who sleeps in the dormitory, so here I am."

Lisa laughed as he listened to his Jisoo's response, saying: "I used to cover for you when you dated."

"Who was I with before again? That was when you and Ni Ni..." As soon as Jisoo mentioned Ni Ni, he remembered the situation. "By the way, just now Ni Ni called me and asked how aunty was doing. I told her the operation was successful."

"Oh!"

Jisoo saw Lisa's cold reaction, and became uncertain: "You didn't want me to say?"

"That's right." Lisa looked at Jisoo in the eyes and said, "You don't have to tell her about my situation in the future, nor do you have to pass on messages to me for her."

"Don't be so decisive," Jisoo advised. "You've been with her for years. I've seen how much you like her."

Lisa looked down and thought for a while. He knew he had no intention of backing out of the situation, nor did he regret anything. He also knew he wouldn't be able to hide this from his good friend.

Lisa looked up towards Jisoo and said in a serious tone, "Jisoo, I'm married!"

"What...what??" Lisa looked so serious there was no way he was joking.

Lisa talked about what happened in the Civil Affair Bureau on July 7th from beginning to end.

"Are you kidding me?" Jisoo didn't want to believe the extraordinary story he had heard.

Lisa opened his desk drawer and the little red book was still inside. When he brought it to his parents previously, he left it in this drawer. He grabbed and gave it to Jisoo, "It's right here. Look at it."

Jisoo took and opened it; the time, place, characters, stamp, and even the texture of the book was realistic.

"Did you really pick up a wife off the street?" Jisoo couldn't help but raise his voice.

"Keep your voice down," Lisa frowned and said. "My parents don't know about this. They think I married Ni Ni. Fortunately, they never met Ni Ni either, so it didn't matter they met someone else."
