We were all back in the van, trying to wrap our heads around what we just witnessed. I was sitting next to Vigilante, who would not stop whining about his pinky toe.

"It's the most important toe there is!" He said.

"I don't think so," I said, not one to usually argue with him but I wanted him to stop. I quickly realized that was not the way to do that.

He kept on complaining and arguing that it was, in fact, the most important toe and he would be unable to walk without it. Peacemaker laughed at him and I rolled my eyes.

Back at HQ, I was settled in a chair next to Vigilante waiting for Murn to arrive. He finally arrived, walking through the doors and throwing keys to Vigilante. When he stood up, he couldn't help but complain. I watched him limp over to the door and shook my head with a slight laugh. Peacemaker came over to me, ushering me out the door saying we could go home to rest.

In the Vigilante mobile, I was sitting shotgun and made Peacemaker sit in the back.

"Hey, swing by my dad's house on the way home. He's got a helmet I think I could use," Peacemaker told Vigilante. He complied and started driving in that direction. He then went on to thank Peacemaker for allowing him to be tortured. I smacked his shoulder.

"You're welcome?" Peacemaker was just as confused as I was.

Vigilante was being very passive aggressive and Peacemaker was starting to get annoyed.

"Can we have, I don't know, maybe a normal conversation for once?" I asked, annoyed.

"Sorry," Vigilante said. The car was quiet for a second until he started the bickering again, having to get the last word. I sighed and put my head in my hands.

We finally arrived and Peacemaker told us to stay in the car while he got his stuff. We decided it would be a good time to change out of our suits and back into our normal clothes. Now we were just me and Adrian. I couldn't help but smile when I turned to look at him. He made a big goofy grin back. Unable to help myself, I leaned over the center console to kiss him. Though I had intended it to be a small one, Adrian had other ideas, and deepened the kiss. We were now making out in his car like teenagers. After a bit, I pulled back.

"Was that really necessary?" I asked him, laughing a bit.

"Yes," He grinned at me. "Come on, let's go check on him."

We got out of the car and ventured into the house. We made our way through and finally found the room Peacemaker was in.

"I thought I told you guys to stay in the car!"

We just shrugged at him.

"How is this place so big?" I asked.

"Quantum unfolding storage area. It leads to a dimensional nodule outside space." Impressive.

"You're dad is pretty brainy for a racist, to make a place like this," Adrian commented. "And if your dads a racist and you work with him..."

"I don't work with him!" Peacemaker argued. "He makes me stuff."

"If it walks like a duck, that's all I'm saying," Adrian said. Oh, boy here we go. I brought my hand to my head and sighed, already fed up with this new argument.

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" Peacemaker asked.

"Alright, I'm gonna wait by the car," I said and walked outside.
