OUR FORGOTTEN LOVE

Chapter 8

This place was beautiful, it was a hill,with flowers on the side but what stood out the most was the huge tree that was smack down in the middle of the place, honestly it was breathtaking.

"Wow," I said,that didn't sound dumb at all huh Sky?

Austin turned around and rolled his eyes gesturing me to follow him, I eagerly did wondering what else there was and when he did I gasped, if I said there was only a tree and flowers I lied. This wasn't a hill, it was a mountain with a cascading waterfall which lead to a large lake at the bottom.

My jaw dropped and Austin smiled and pushed it back up.

I gaped at him," How? Why? What? Where? When? Am I missing anything?" I asked.

He just smiled and said, "There was this girl I met eleven years ago ."

He looked at me for a split second and returned to face the waterfall," See, she was a bit of a loner, always by herself for as long as I could remember,I wanted to talk, to make her smile and to hear that laugh but I was too shy.''

I laughed ,"That's a first."

He just rolled his eyes and playfully nudged me.

"She asked me a stupid question, if I thought she was pretty and this unknown feeling came over me to protect her, to hold her, to give her my shoulder whenever she needed to cry,I wanted to be her everything, except for the reason shethat tears left those eyes."

My heart melted a little whoever this girl was she was lucky, Austin spoke of her with pride and love.

"I, being an idiot. told her she was beautiful and why would she ask that, she smiled and said thank you, I ended up talking to her for hours and realized the reason she was a loner was bacause a couple of boys picked on her. I was so pissed that I went around strangling every guy I knew at that age , even Aiden and Xavier until one of them cracked and told me who was bullying her."

My eyebrows knit together,"Why did you strangle every guy ?"

He chuckled, "She was..... is, a good girl , always caring for others and hates violence, when I asked her who the idiots were she refused, said she didn't want anyone to get hurt, more importantly she didn't want to be the reason I got in trouble, but I didn't listen, in a way she made me who I am today a badass, she taught me to protect who I love no matter what the consequences."

"Consequenses?"I asked.

"Let's just say, when I found out who the guys were, they were on their knees practically beging her for forgiveness,I got detention for a month for almost choking the guy." He smiled.

"Why are you smiling , you almost killed the guy.''

"I am smiling because she punched me when I told her I handled it ." He laughed.

I grinned,"I like her already."

He just looked at me,"Then she hugged me and said thank you, again.That day I realised what it felt like to be appreciated just for protecting someone."

I smiled,"She sounds like a great girl."

"She is."

"Where is she now, do I know her?"

His smile vanished replaced with a sullen look,"I lost her when I was eleven."

"Lost her as in.......I thought she was alive?" I asked, he still hadn't said why he called me princess all the time.

"She is..but that's something only my friends know."

"Sky , you wanted to know why I called you Princess?" He said with a forlon look, stepping closer to me, he cupped my cheeks,"Because you remind me so much of her,your attitude,your smile, you are the only girl who doesn't throw herself at me,just like her."

My heart skipped a beat,he continued to speak," She was my princess, my everything but she's gone or part of her is gone.This was our place, our escape.I brought you here because I want you to know it as well"

"Aust-" before I could complete my sentence he left and headed back to the car.

Whoever this girl was she broke his heart, if not she has it but refuses to return it.
