Bokuto x Akaashi

Another day in Bokuto's supposedly amazing life. Waking up early in the morning, around 4 am, brush his teeth and clean up a bit, get changed and go for a jog, come back home after an hour, quick warm shower and breakfast, and get ready to go to school with Akaashi and continue to evolve his already amazing volleyball skills.

Seems like a good and healthy day right?

Well, today the universe had other plans for him.

Loud banging could be heard outside the door of Bokuto's house, with harsh thuds causing poor Koutaro to wake up in a holt.

Throwing himself on the steps of his spinning steps he rushed to the main gate to his home. Opening with a might thrust there, to be seen, was no one.

Utterly confused he looked around a bit more, looking for someone to spot, but to no avail, he hadn't spotted anything. Though, a small white envelope, with gold calligraphic writing was laying on the front steps of his porch. Picking it up he closed the door behind him examining the piece of paper in the comfort of his home.

'What the actual hell? Who sends a letter to me at-'
'2:30 in the goddamn morning?'

sighing, he reluctantly turned on the light to tear the piece of paper.
His eyes met a baby yellow coloured piece of paper with delicate blue, ink writing on top.
It had no name or address but a letter nonetheless.

Hello, this is a notice from your extended car warranty-

(Lmao just kidding, here's the actual part)

Good morning, Good afternoon or Goodnight for whenever you're reading this. I don't expect you to read this or even care about it but I have to let my feelings out.
Since the day I've first met you, I've only ever seen you as a person with no meaning, a side character in my life that I would have seen once or twice in my miserable high school years, and I really did loathe you since the day I had met you.
Though, it turned out quite the entire opposite now.
You're a lot more independent you seem to be, you know?

For someone whose so bipolar like you, my expectations were lower than my standards for myself.

This is more of a letter of me insulting you than it is a confession, right? Well, either way, this is meant to be a confession, which I must say, wasn't very obvious. I don't expect you to return my feelings whatsoever and I don't blame you at all if you don't feel the same; this is just to take these feelings off my chest. I'll be waiting at the park for your rejection :)

~ Yours truly, your teammate

Bokuto was too stunned to speak, sure he has been confessed to once... or twice, but they weren't so... How would he put this... Honest? Like, he didn't find the letter appealing for somewhat insulting him, but he liked the fact they said it?

He's not sure how to put it, it just seemed like he had been tricked into liking that person whether he actually likes them or not.

Wondering about which park the unknown person he read the letter of, he walked around the familiar surroundings of his childhood park; its nostalgic powers kicking Bokuto's memories into action. Oh, how sometimes he missed the good old days... Where he and his old friends used to play together...

How he had met Akaashi all bunched up like a ball on the swing...

Where he had his first kiss with...

'Let's not talk about that one', He told himself mentally, the parks large surroundings engulfing Bokuto into the play gates and large oak trees of its shell; still, looking around, Bokuto had spotted a dot at the far distance, as he walked closer, the dot seemed to get bigger. Turning from a dot to a speck, then a blob, then a piece of mass, then a creature, then a human and then...

"Akaashi?"

Bokuto called out from behind the old rusty swings.
Akaashi flipped his head towards the direction of the voice, his eyes glassy with the full moon shining into his eyes making them look like rare crystals.
