"Derek." Emily moans as he kisses her neck. "We can't tonight." Emily says as she pushes him off of her. "It's storming, You know Elsie is gonna be in here in any minute." Every time it storms the two and a half year old would crawl into bed with her parents, and Emily guessed this time would be no different.

"I'll be quick." He states as he goes in for another kiss, Emily blocks him.

"As romantic as that sounds, I think I'll have to pass." Derek rolls onto his back and a second later the door creaks open. "would it had been that quick?" Emily ask raising her eyebrows. Derek smiles.

"Mommy, Daddy, I'm scared." Two year old Elsie whispers as she walks to her mothers side of the bed.

"come here, baby." Emily lifts her daughter onto the bed. "there is nothing to be afraid of, it's just rain." Emily tries to calm her baby girl down as she has just buried herself against Emily's side.

"Elsie, Look at daddy, Do you know why it rains El?" her father asks her as she shock her head no. "Well, the sky it get thirsty sometimes, just like you, mommy, and me, right? and what happens when you are thirsty? he asks.

"Mommy or you get me a drink."

"That's right, so the sky takes a big drink of water and that fills the sky up, but sometimes the sky drinks to much. What happens when you drink too much water?"

"I have to potty." she says giggling away.

"Mhm, so when the sky drinks to much , it has to go potty too, and that is what rain is." Derek explains.

"Ew, that's nasty daddy." Emily and Derek laugh at their daughters comment.

"That's why we have umbrella's." Derek says matter of fact.

"What about thunder?" she ask scooting closer to her father.

"Well, Thunder is," Derek thinks for a little bit. "Thunder is the skies farts."

the little girl went on hysterically laughing at her fathers response "What about lightening, daddy?"

"Oh, lightening," he struggles to come up with something this time "Mommy what's lightening?" Derek ask looking over at Emily.

"Well if rain is pee and thunder is farts, then I think lightening should be..."

"Poop!" Elsie interrupts and the three of them laugh once more.

"Well, it makes sense." Emily agrees. They laid there for a while longer, listening to the rain hit the house and every time it would thunder or strike a lightening bolt, the three would let out a series of laughter and giggles.
