"What are you doing?" El asks, her voice still raspy from sleep as she stands at the mouth of the tent I'd set up for us.

I peered over my shoulder at her from where I was sitting by the fire as I flipped the quail I caught earlier over it, catching a glimpse of her just as she pulls her shirt over her head and shimmies into her pants.

It takes a world of self-control for me to tear my eyes away from the sight before I end up sabotaging our breakfast.

"Cooking for your overgrown puppy," I answer, staying seated instead of joining El in our tent like I really want to.

"Finley?" She wrinkles her nose adorably with a teasing pout, "What about me?"

"Why don't you get that delectable ass of yours over here and we'll see what I have for you."

The grin that takes over her face takes my breath away and I savour every detail of her as she saunters over to me and plants herself on my lap.

My hands immediately go around her waist and hers snake around my neck as if it were second nature and we've been doing it for years.

"What are we having?" She questions, leaning forward to see what I was cooking. "Quail?"

I hum in agreement, tearing off a wing from it and tossing it to the furry canine. It chomps away at the piece of meat, its tail wagging violently in satisfaction.

"You do know he's capable of hunting for his own food, right?"

"So are you. Your point?" I shoot back, tearing off the thigh next and holding it up to El's lips.

"Touché," Her smile widens as she takes it from me with a peck on my lips.

My hand comes up to palm the back of her neck, deepening the kiss.

I might've had her all to myself for the past week, but we have too much lost time to make up for and it simply wasn't enough. The more I'm with El, the more I find myself falling more addicted to her and I crave her presence each day.

It's only been hours since her lips were on mine, but I relish the feeling of them as they danced against mine.

She raises her leg to straddle me, breakfast long forgotten and I feel her grin against my lips. "If we don't stop, we'll end up back in bed."

"And?" I quirk a brow at her, loving how often I see that dazzling smile of her these days. I just hope it never fades.

She shivers as I run my fingers up the length of her spine, tilting her head to give me more excess as I trailed my lips down her neck.

Then, just as I thought things were going way El had suggested like it's been the last couple of days, Finley's bark echoes through the woods.

I groan, burying my face in her hair. "Ignore him," I say, pressing my lips to her collarbone in hopes of convincing her to stay with me.

"Stop," She laughs, tugging lightly on my hair to pull me back. If she was trying to get me to do what she said, this was definitely the wrong way to go about it, seeing as to how the front of my trousers was becoming painfully constricted.
