(Every other chapter I'll link a song included in the playlist linked in the bio that I feel best suits the chapter and I'll also be naming the chapters after said songs)

Her vision was a blur as she sat in the back of her parent's car at the age of thirteen. She could see the blinding lights ahead, unaware that her father had dozed off at the wheel, her mother asleep in the passenger side and with a loud ear-shattering horn coming from the incoming traffic, the girl knew it was too late. Her green hues focused on the bright light that took hold of her being, a scream escaping her lips as she heard her parent's voices... which was when she officially had opened her eyes, pushing herself up into a sitting position within a matter of seconds, her hand went to her chest and then her head as she felt the weight of the space around her. Once her surroundings became more focused, she was quick to notice that the other pods beside her were empty and that she wasn't entirely alone. Her vision moved upwards towards the synthetic male that was standing over her but when she met their eyes she sensed some kind of... protectiveness coming from him.

"Evening Ms. Millburn, my name is David" he spoke before wrapping a white robe around her shoulders, helping her as she let her legs hang over the edge of her pod.

"Where... where's everyone else?" she questioned, "They're in the dining hall, you were the last to wake... I reassured your brother that I would take care of you."

She furrowed her brows as she took everything in, leaning forward as she moved her hands through her hair, her head aching softly.

"How long has it been?" she asked, her stomach turning slightly.

"Two years, four months, 18 days... Your mind and body are in a current state of shock..." he started in a soft tone, her hues soon looking up to meet his for a few moments.

"It's alright, perfectly normal." He finished with a simple tilt of his head as he handed her a glass of water.

She gave a soft nod as he rubbed her back in gentle motion, "Thank you..." she responded before taking a few sips, he was oddly kind, nicer than any actual human she'd met.

"Is there anything else I can assist you with Ms. Millburn?" He asked as she took in a few deep breaths before responding.

"Yeah... uhm, mind not calling me Ms. Millburn?" she questioned meeting his eyes once more, "Just call me Lorelai... or even Lore would be fine." she added seeing how he showed a smile at her words and gave a nod, "Yes, I can do that... Lore."

Lorelai smiled at him before she managed to drink down the rest of the water, handing the now empty glass over to David before she proceeded to help herself out of the pod she had once slept in, he was quick to set the glass aside and help her.

"I don't think you should move quite yet-"

"David... trust me... I'm okay." she responded, which was true to some degree but she was also fighting every urge inside of her not to throw up, even if he stated it was normal... she didn't want to show weakness, unable to explain to herself why.

He seemed to notice though, placing his hands on either side of her upper torso to help her stand.

Once she was up on her feet his hands lingered for a few moments before he released her completely, it was as if he struggled to let go like he almost didn't want to.

"I'll let you get dressed, if you need anything else I will be out in the hall."

She watched him exit, her hues glancing around the room before approaching the locker area, searching for her name. She noticed how they had provided clothes, which of course had Weyland corp. branded on every single article in one way or another. She shivered slightly, grabbing a pair of grey sweat pants, a yellow t-shirt, a black jacket, and a pair of white high-top sneakers before heading to the showers and getting dressed.

When she exited the room she was surprised to see David standing outside, even though he had said he would be if she needed anything, she soon glanced down noticing he held another glass in his hand this time it was filled with some kind of pinkish smoothie looking beverage which made her raise a brow when he handed it to her.

"What's this?" she questioned simply taking it from him and looking it over.

"It's a strawberry smoothie filled with all of the nutrients your body and mind are in need of."

Her lips tightened slightly as if in thought for a few moments, soon the tip of the glass met her lips and she drank it down like it was nothing, never really realizing until just then how desperate for food and nutrients her body was.

"So, did my brother put you up to this too?" she questioned, seeing how he gave a smile before responding.

"No, but he did tell me a few things you liked, one of them being strawberries." He responded by taking the glass from her again and without speaking led the way to the dining hall.

Lorelai was quick to spot her older brother, though she turned back for a few moments to see where her synthetic friend had gone but he was nowhere to be seen. She frowned softly to herself before grabbing a nearby tray and picking up what she wanted as she went down the line, soon making her way over to her brother and sitting beside him.

"Look who it is, miss sleeping beauty herself." he teased as she nudged him in annoyance, "Says the one who ordered a literal robot to look after his sister."

"Woah- hey, I didn't order him to do anything, in fact he offered to stay back- and that blonde lady..." he started, giving a simple point over to the slim built tall lady who stood with their backs to them.

"I think that's Meredith Vickers... I was on a video call with her briefly- along with Elizabeth and Charlie..."

"Really? Well, she didn't seem too siked about what her robot did... it was kind of weird now that I think of it."

She furrowed her brows for a few moments, "Yeah, she wasn't too siked about me coming to begin with, especially when you decided to come along"

"Hey, I wasn't about to let my little sister go to space alone without someone to protect her."

"Warren... you're literally a 6'2" toddler, I can protect myself."

"Yeah well- whatever, anyways... meet my new friend here- uhm- what's your name again?" he questioned as she finally focused her attention on the rebel-looking, Irish, tattooed male that sat across from them, watching as he gave Warren a look.

"Yeah... I ain't your friend." he stated before getting up and leaving the table.

Lorelai looked over to her brother, holding back a bit of laughter the best she could.

"Shut up..." he muttered.
