"i have to stay strong. i have to stay strong. i have to." she whispers to herself, repeating her mother's words to herself repeatedly. "be strong. be strong. stay fucking strong." she whispers. her chest heaves as she tries to control her ragged breathing. "i want to stay strong..." she whispers,
"but i can't bring myself to love again, not even myself."
