Chapter 17: I'm A Mouse. Duh.

Julia's POV~

Blake and I walked into school holding hands. A cold winter breeze blew, and I shivered slightly. "You cold?" Blake asked. I shook my head. "No." "You're a great liar, you know that?" He chuckled taking off his jacket and putting around my shoulders. "Thanks." I mumbled. I looked up and saw a banner on the school. It read,

Lakewood High Annual Costume Party Dance Tomorrow Night: Lakewood Best Costume Couple Will Be Chosen

I scoffed. "They even have that here?" "I think it's pretty cool. C'mon. Let's participate." Blake said. "No. You can. I won't." I crossed my arms together.

"Please." He begged.

"No."

"Please..."

"No."

"Please."

"No."

"Please...I love you."

"No-" I sighed. "You're lucky you're my boyfriend an I love you too." He grinned widely and hugged me. "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." He said over and over again. I laughed. "Okay. Okay."

"Julia!" I heard two voices say. I turned around and saw, Chris and Caleb racing toward me. "Holy mother of-" But, I was cut off by Caleb telling me, "Jake. Spaermont Alley. 5 Men. Fight. Jake. Bad men. Tribal tattoo on arm. Number on face. Bad men. Maybe gang. Stab Jake. Jake. Say. Run. We. To. You. Please. Help." He said through gasps. And that was when I raced through the school doors. I don't know what had gotten into me, but I just ran. I ran for my life. Why? I don't know. But, I had a feeling I knew who these five men were.

I hopped into my car along with Caleb Chris, and Blake. I was sure I was going to get a ticket, but I didn't care. This was life or death for Jake. I sped out of the school parking lot and drove down to Spearmont Alley, which was five minutes, by speeding car. I jumped out of my car and ran into the alley. I looked around and saw Jake lying on the floor clutching his stomach. "Now tell us. Where the hell is she?" One man said to Jake. "I'm telling you. I don't know." Jake groaned. Who are they looking for? "We're warning you kid. Where is Julia?" The other man said. Ahh. They're looking for me. I smirked and walked a few steps closer. "Julia! Don't." Blake whisper-shouted. "It's okay. I got this." I said back.

"Looking for me boys?" I said to the men. They turned around. I immediately recognized them. "Hello, Hunter, James, Bruce, Willis, Terrence. How's the gang going?" "Julia. There you are. Look. We have to tell you something impor-" Hunter stared, but I cut him off. i held my hand up to his mouth. "Is it about Shane?" I asked referring to their gang boss. He nodded. "Then, I don't want to hear about it." "Please, Julia. The boss really wants you back. You have to come back. We're falling apart without your help." Willis spoke.

"Julia. What are they talking about?" Blake asked. "Nothing. Just stay behind me." I snapped. I am not allowing these five nincompoops to reveal my past right here and right now. "Oh? Julia. You haven't told your new pals about us?" Bruce smirked. "Shut it, Bruce." I growled. "They have nothing to do with this. It's between me and Shane. They're not in the equation." "Julia. You have to come back to the gang." James pleaded. "What? What gang? She never joined any gang. Right Julia? You told me you didn't." Blake said. "Yes she did. And she was the best person there." Terrence finally spoke. Shit. Why did they have to open their fucking mouths? "No! If she did then she would have a number near her left eye like you guys. And she doesn't." Chris argued.
