(Guest appearance by my oc June Fadoula from my other story, The Air I Breathe. This one-shot is not from that Au; I just wanted to bring June in here.)
Yasmina waited anxiously to be walked down the aisle by her mother. Her dress was her mother's when she married her father. It was a white princess-style dress with silver trim and details.
She looked down at her hands. One was stiff as she flexed her fingers. The feeling of the crutches in her grasp was calming. She smiled slightly for the first time in a long while. She felt whole.
A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. "Who is it?" The bride asked and was met with her sister's reply, "Hey Yaz. We are all set. Want to practice walking?" Her sister asked, and the bride nodded in response.
Yasmina let go of the crutches and took a minute to regain her balance. She took a step and another. The prosthetic was nice to walk in. As the two girls walked, June kept her hand around Yasmina's back in case she fell.
June heard soft sobs as they walked the room perimeter. "Yaz. Are you okay?" Her sister asked calmly. The younger sister nodded and wiped her eyes. "Sorry. I just never thought I would be able to walk again and to be able to marry the love of my life." The bride replied, a smile played on her lips. "I'm ready, June. Thanks for your help." Yasmina whispered as she kissed her sister's cheek.
(Time skip 30 mins)
Her mother admired the dress on her daughter's thin frame. It accents every part that made her daughter strong. She held her arm to the girl to walk her down the aisle where her love awaited her.
