7. The Choosing Ceremony

Levi's POV

I was there, in the big hall. Everyone were there, great families, ordinary people, alphas, betas, omegas, everyone! It was so crowded. Servants were working and making sure that everyone gets drinks. At the top of the room was a platform and a high table which Mr. Reiss was standing behind it.

He started talking. "Well ladies and gentlemen, I'm honored to be the host of this year's choosing ceremony. I believe most of you know how this works, but it's my responsibility to explain about it. In the choosing ceremony every alpha can just ask for one omega. Alphas write the name of the omega they like in a paper that we give you, and after that you give the paper that includes an omega's name to me. After everyone were done, I start reading the papers for omegas and they can choose as many mate candidates as they want. Any question?"

Someone raised their hand. "Yeah. What if an alpha don't be chosen by an omega?"

"Good question. After all the omegas who had people asking for them, chose their mate candidates, the alphas who didn't get chose can ask for another omega." Mr. Reiss answered.

"What about betas?" another person asked.

"About betas; as a beta you can just ask for a beta or an omega and just be asked for by an alpha or a beta." He answered. "So an omega can't ask for a beta and a beta can't ask for an alpha, right?" "That's right."

"I have a question. Do we have to choose our mate from our mate candidates?" a girl asked. "No dear, you can have a hundred mate candidates and not choose your mate from them." Mr. Reiss said.

Ahhh. I was bored, well actually I was nervous. Should I choose any mate candidates? It's no harm in that, but who should I choose? Most of the alphas who are from great families are either snobby or stupid and spoiled. And I don't know anyone from ordinary people. Besides I wanted to fell in love and then choose a mate. I don't love any of these people. Although there is one guy that I just found out that I like. The son of the Yeager family, Eren Yeager. But doesn't matter anyway. He is gonna ask for that blond whore, Historia. Well what if I choose everyone who asks for me? In that case I can meet more people and I might fall in love with one of them, just as Mikasa said. Yeah that's not a bad idea.

Speaking of the which, where is Mikasa? I looked around, but I couldn't find her. Oh I guess she is with Annie again. Oh my god, the image of them having sex came to my mind again. Ah god please, erase that from my mind. I tried to distract myself. I looked among the crowd. I saw Petra with her friends. She saw me too and bow to me. I waved at her. She got happy and waved back. Now that I notice, a lot of our maids were there among the ordinary people.

I was looking around and enjoying my drink that Mr. Reiss start talking again. "Ok. All of the alphas and betas who want to ask for someone come here please."

Alphas and some betas left the crowd and went to the platform. Some servants came and gave them a paper.

"The papers that you receive has your name on it, please check it yourselves too. Then write the name of the person that you want. After you done, come and give it to me." Mr. Reiss said towards them.

The first one who was finished was Eren. He wrote something on the paper without hesitation and gave it to the host. Then he came into the crowd. Gradually everyone was finished.

"Well I have all the letters and now I'm gonna inform you about it." Mr. Reiss said and started to read the letters.

"Alpha Furlan Church asked for omega Isabel Magnolia. Alpha Jean Kirstein asked for omega Marco Bodt. Beta Marlo Freudenberg asked for omega Hitch Dreyse. Alpha angel Aaltonen asked for omega Levi Ackerman. Beta Bertholdt Hoover asked for omega Armin Arlert. Alpha Aaron Kruger asked for omega Levi Ackerman. Alpha Nanaba Steinberd asked for beta Eld Gin. Beta Gunther Schultz asked for omega Rico Brzenska. Alpha ...." He continued reading letters. As he was reading I could hear my name every 5 seconds. I knew some of the people who were asking for me, but the others... I didn't even heard their names. Oh god when is he gonna finish?
