Drina's ears rang hard. Her head was throbbing. As she slowly opened her eyes she could see shadows running around her and could feel the thump of each footstep but could make out what they were saying because of her ringing ears. Where was Varian in all of this? She quietly called out his name, her throat aching as she said every syllable. Someone stepped on her hand and she yelled out in pain. She had to stand up and get out if here before she was trampled to death. Where was she again? What happened?
Immediately after sitting up and placing a hand on the ground for support did someone step on her hand again. Then her leg. Then a foot to her face.
Her head was slammed back into the floor. She decided that what was need was for her to do this fast, almost as fast as lightning. Drina counted to three and she sprang up and ran the direction the crowd was panicking as to not get stampeded. In her mind, she set tasks. The first one was to find Varian as soon as physically possible. Second, get the heck out of here. Third, probably tend to her wounds she couldn't feel yet because of the rush of adrenaline.

"Varian!" she screamed over the loudness of the crowd. Her being fairly short, she could not see over the crowd but, she knew she had to he somewhere in the middle. An idea popped into her head. She would run diagonally to get out of the crowd to get a better view and find Varian.

Her plan worked successfully, only a few more bruises would be showing up later. She had made it to the side of the ship and plastered herself near one of the office doors and kept looking for a blue stripe and goggles. Jumping to see over the heads of the commoners, she eagerly looked for him.

"Varian!" she yelled this time, still jumping. "Varian, please! It's Drina!" She went on and on and on calling his name but still he did not come. Still she could not see him. After awhile, she was exhausted, as she stopped to sit down, she was grabbed by the arm and soon her mouth was covered which muffled her scream.

"Shut up!" a shot was fired by the stranger holding her. His hand was now firm around her torso. She looked up and examined him. He had long, blond hair pulled up in a ponytail, his face was dirty. No stubble, so he must be around her age, or he couldn't grow facial hair and was a forty-year-old man. Either could be the case. Drina hoped for the former, at least he still might have a heart.  He was really tall, way taller than her. Maybe a foot taller. Maybe more.
He eyed her and she quickly looked to the floor, heat rushing up her cheeks. "I'm going to start killing you off one by one if you do not comply to my every demand. Starting with her!" He pointed his armed hand to her head. Drina screamed and the crowd calmed, forming a semicircle by the wall of windows in front of the boy. "Good choice." His gun hand eased a bit. Drina gazed around the crowd and still looked for Varian. Instead of finding him, she saw the unconscious-maybe even dead-bodies on the floor from the frenzy. "Now, we are accelerating upwards so we have time before we crash," It went so slow yet so fast. Screams and cries broke out and the boy raised the gun to her head and then a man ran up and grabbed the boy's hand, pointing at himself and it shot out, killing the man.

"No!" Drina cried out.

"This is what happens when you don't. Shut. UP!" his face turned into a sneer, as if he had planned this. "Now, let's start with introductions! My name is Hugo the Human. I am the leader of these ugly ruffians." he gestured around him and for the first time since the explosion, Drina noticed several men around her. All dirty but in somewhat the same get-up. Brown and tan, gadgets and cogs decorating their pants, shirts, some even had them pierced in their ears. "I got my name as a contradiction, I guess." he shrugged. "Since people think I'm as un-humanly as one person can get but, I think, being human is doing what humans do, kill, steal, and destroy."
His goons cheered at this proclamation and Drina wanted to roll her eyes. Was this guy serious? Then she looked down at the body that saved her life. He was a very dark man with curly black hair cut short. He was in rags, like her. Like they all were. Except this evil child and his friends. They were dressed more refined, more middle-class. Was this what her parents warned her about? The oppression of the poor? What were they oppressing them for? Just because they have barely enough to get by makes them perfect targets? She didn't get it. It was almost stupid for this to be happening.

"What are you going to do with us?" A brave soul asked. Hugo quickly pointed the gun at her, but didn't fire.

"I'll tell you what," he sneered. "One of you aren't telling the truth about your class." There was an uncomfortable rustling and scared murmurs echoed across the plebeians. Drina kept quiet, but her legs were getting achy from locking her knees for a bit and they were starting to shake. She gasped as he jerked his head to face her. "I think it's you, isn't it?"

"I-I..." Okay. This guy was idiotic. Who would want to pretend to be a commoner if they have so much money? Unless... they didn't know? No. That'd be ridiculous.

"I'm taking this one! Get this blasted bird to the ship and take everyone incase I'm wrong, which I never am." Hugo proceeded to pull her back into the cockpit and shut the door.
