The sun arose and brightened the room. Including brightening right in his eyes. Hugo squinted and sighed. Another day, another time he had to get out of bed. Maybe no one would notice if he just stayed at his house all day. Scratch that, everyone would know. Varian would wonder but not bother as to be a people pleaser; Nuru would just joke about how lazy he was ;Yong would let the whole kingdom know if he had to, which he would do anyway; And Drina... would definitely knock on his door to make sure he was okay.

I guess I have to get up... he thought as he slowly sat up. He stretched his arms and yawned. Looking out the window, he could see birds flying this way and that. Spring was creeping up close in Corona after the endless snow they had during the early winter. His mouth perked up on one side. Nature was truly astounding. It was one of Drina's favorite things, next to her friends. Hugo continued to glance around his room, waiting to fully wake up when something caught his blurry vision. The calendar. He wondered what day it was so he grabbed his glasses and slipped them up his nose.

"February 14th..." he read aloud. "Februa- OH!" He leaped as fast as light out of his bed to the calendar and put a hand to his mouth, shocked. How could he forgotten? The day, getting her a present? HOW? "I'm the worst boyfriend everrrrrrrrr....."

"You were right, Yong," Varian lowered his binoculars. "I guess he did forget."

Yong held out his hand. "My payment, good sir." Varian rolled his eyes and reached into his pocket and out came a five-dollar bill. He placed it into his hand. "Thank you."

"He needs our help." Varian re-hid behind the bush that they were spying behind.

"Yeah," Yong yawned. "Desperately."

Varian peered down at his watch. "Oh! We need to get back to the castle. Hugo's just going to gave to wait I guess."

Drina giggled as she twirled around her room. She couldn't wait to see and experience the fun activities the Kingdom of Corona had to offer for this special day!
Grabbing her picked dress for today, she twirled around with that. This was her first "Day of Hearts" with a suitor. Heck, this was her first anything with a suitor. Though she wasn't much of a shy girl, she didn't like when her feelings got in the way of her studies. Whenever someone found an interest to her, she felt as if it was a travesty. Her mother had always taught her that she was too young for feelings, and she knew she was. She always hated the emotions that took place with having a crush, but now that she was older-nineteen to he exact-she felt she was mature enough to control them.

"Why, yes. I would love to dance with you, Sir Hugo." Another giggle escaped her lips.

When she met Hugo, they were as distant as distant could be. He was just another person in their group, another friend. Drina was more into Varian, seeing as they hadn't seen each other in over a decade! She really only paid attention to him, wanting to know everything that had happened. Hugo would only pop in her head when he teased her. The time she remembered kind of starting to like him was when he saved her during one of the trials. That started a chain reaction of, "Maybe he isn't so bad after all." to, "He is kinda funny." After that, it got a whole lot complicated. This was her first crush, her first love. How was she supposed to poise herself to him other than teasing him back and making awkward remarks? How was she supposed to control her butterflies in her stomach without throwing them up?
She sighed. What a child she had been!
A knock on her door startled her.
