The next few weeks after Josh left consisted of me making sure I wouldn't relapse again and my sisters constantly nagging me about Josh and me getting together. The night I got back after dropping him off at the airport was like non-stop questions from everyone.

FLASHBACK

I was driving back to the house and I felt a single tear roll down my cheek. I don't know how he expects me to stay so strong when he is over 1,000 miles away! I pulled into a parking spot and wiped the tears off of my face before walking in the house. The first thing I did was head straight to my room to get my things for a hot shower. I figured that would make me feel better.

The hot water and steam poured over my body. As I stood there, I thought about Josh and if being with him would really be a good idea. I feel like I am the only one who would benefit. I would only take his love without being able to give any back. I mean he is a really great guy, so caring and compassionate, but I am so unbelievably broken that even I can't put up with me sometimes. I don't want him to have to go through that. But he is just so understanding and I am so happy with him. I suddenly got overwhelmed at my own thoughts and decided to push them out of my head and give Josh a chance. He deserves that.

I threw my short sleep shorts on along with a sleep shirt. Just as I was brushing my wet hair, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in!"

Ashley walked in and shut the door then sat on my bed.

"Hey, so I'm really sorry about last night" I said while looking down

"Maddie, you promised you were done with that. What happened?" I took a slow deep breath and started telling her what happened

"As soon as you told me that Ben had showed up, I went upstairs to get my stuff to stay the night with Josh. I came back downstairs and he grabbed me and wouldn't let me go. I couldn't push him off of me. He told me that I was still "fat" but he was willing to take me back because I was so loyal. Josh came up and tried to get him to lay off but he wouldn't. We finally got away and then he yelled to Josh "Good luck trying to get any from her. She's just a BIG tease". Emphasis on the big. I don't know why but that made me sick to my stomach. I was just starting to get back some self confidence and he shattered me. I'm really sorry Ashley"

She sat there with me, letting me know it was OK to break down but that I shouldn't listen to him or make myself throw up.

"Did you make yourself sick again at the hotel with Josh?" I smiled. She doesn't know yet.

"no, I didn't. But he did freak out when I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom cause I shut the door" She laughed and it was silent for a moment.

"he kissed me" Her eyes grew wide

"WHAT?!?" I smiled and said again

"He kissed me"

"And?"

"And it was the most incredible feeling in the world"

"So are you and him....?"

"yeah. we are"

"Oh my gosh!! Maddie! I'm so happy for you" She said pulling me in for a hug.
