"Well, it's not my fault the two of you stayed up all night last night is it?" Aunt Mary retorted after my protests of not wanting to run some errands with her. "Now, hurry up and get ready. We're leaving in a few." She picked up my plate and began washing them in the sink. I let out a sigh of defeat and stood up from my seat.
"You should probably go home," I said to MIkayla who was still busying stuffing her face with breakfast food. "We can meet up later," She gave it some thought before giving me a thumbs up and continuing to eat.
I went upstairs and took a quick shower. I hurried up after Aunt Mary sent me a telepathic message telling me to do so. I took one last look at the mirror and was satisfied with my presentable self before going out of the door and out of the house. My aunt was already waiting in her car so I went straight in after waving goodbye to Uncle William and Mikayla.
The start of the drive was quiet with only side glances given to me by Aunt Mary. I continued acting like I don't notice them when she finally said, "I wanted to tell you earlier but with Mikayla being there, it was a little difficult,"
I raised an eyebrow, "What's up?"
She grinned and replied, "This isn't just a normal errand. We're going to a special store to get your school materials." She was obviously excited by the sound of her tone. "The store owner is an old friend of mine and I've already informed her that you're going to be a new student in Preston Academy."
"Preston Academy? That sounds exceedingly posh."
She laughed, "Its a school for magic, I'd be concerned if it wasn't. But anyways, I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but yes, this academy is going to be your new school.
"You're going to learn more about our culture, your powers and well . . . a whole of different things." About an hour later we finally got to the shop. Reading the name, I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion. " 'Everything Earth' . . . You said we were getting school supplies, tell me again why we're at a flower shop." I eyed the vast array of colorful flowers.
"And that's where you're wrong. This isn't a normal flower shop, you'll see." She locked her car and made her way into the shop confidently. A bell chimed as she opened the door, "Selene! Where are you?" Aunt Mary called out. We walked a little further into the shop when a petite blonde woman popped out of nowhere.
"Mary! Oh, its been so long since I've seen you." The blonde woman embraced my aunt before turning her attention to me. "This must be Blue. Look at you, you're so big now!" She came to me and gave me a hug, to which I replied with standing there awkwardly.
"Selene, please let my nephew go, you're clearly scaring him." Aunt Mary teased and she immediately pulled away. "I'm so sorry dear, where are my manners," She giggled before brushing off some nonexistent dirt off of her apron. "It's just been a really long time since I've seen you and I mean, look at him! He's so cute."
She pointed to me and I blushed. Aunt Mary crossed her arms and grinned, clearly amused. Finally, she turned to me and introduced the strange woman, "This is Selene, one of my and your mother's old friend." Selene smiled and curtsied slightly.
"She is also the former Earth Keeper." Now I was intrigued. I looked at her again and took in her appearance. Blonde hair, petite body, she was also wearing a brown dress with a white apron tied around her waist. On a glance, she looked like your average florist but when I looked closer, her green eyes were strangely glowing. It was as if she took out her iris and changed them with emeralds.
She nodded, "Although I'm no longer a Keeper, I'm still an Earth Magic user. Which is why I opened up this shop in the first place." She gave us a mischievous smile and said, "Now, onto the real reason on why you're here." Selene turned around and we followed suit.
