Painting, dancing, smiling, baking, binge watching, sleepover-ing. As if seasonal depression was just a vague memory, we live again. We start to enjoy life as it is. We are more welcoming, relaxing, shining. The sunny season brings the best of us. We might however feel that feeling of longing for what once was: productivity, stress, bonding trough pain, laughing at adversity. Some call it PTSD, some call it burnout. I personally prefer Lana's words : summertime sadness. What better way to describe it? The sun is out and so are our darkest thoughts. The one that were hiding whilst we were busy stressing over grades and social life. But hey, at least the sunsets have brighter colors and the butterfly came back. Romantize your life. Go on a walk. Light a scented candle. Sleep for a whole day. Eat some ice cream for breakfast. Buy cat-print stuff. Read under the a tree. Girlboss, gatekeep and gaslight your way through August. Ghost everyone if you have to. Remember to enjoy things whilst they last. Autumn is coming anyways so why not make the most out of the present season too?
