Zeke:
They sat on the soft hill laughing loudly. Out of breath they giggled attempting to bribe the soft air into their raged air bags. Their eyes met and Zeke noticed the blue telling a thousand stories in her black pupils. She smiled and they both did. just smiling.
Present
That's all Zeke could think about. As he fell. The memory over coming his senses enhancing them. Then it was white. White. All white.
Axel:
He knew something was wrong a swift brush on his shoulder implied him to turn his head. Zeke had fallen.
"Zeke get up." What was he doing? Thoughts remerged though Axel's mind.
Something gleamed in the corner of his eye. Orange. Everywhere.
"Zeke. " A sense of panic lingered in his voice his heart became a base controlling the rhythm of the moment that seemed to be dramatically advancing.
"Axel we have to go." Tallie's voice had the same beat. He looked noticing shots flying through the air like hail spiralling away from the menacing homes they had once inhabited. The water caught these bullets with such force it danced angerly and wild droplets spat at Axel absorbing his spine. The sea was out of control.
"We have to leave him." A tight pull on his arm regained Axe's focus.
"No we can't just"
"He's gone." The pain in her vice made Axel's insides curl into a spiral making him dizzy.
A sharp rock skimmed Axel's skin as he made towards the pool of orange liquid. He winced clenching his fists and single droplet peacefully slid down the side of his dotted cheek. The pain shot down his arm and his flesh felt hot.
"Axel!" Tallie screamed from behind him but he ignored it.
The blood came up to his ankles. It was seemingly burning. He kneeled next to the sunken body.
"Zeke, zeke, zeke, zeke." He screamed howling at the body as it lay distorted on the stained floor.
"Zeke. Please." Tears flooded his eyes entering the blood that lay iridescent on the ship which slowly sank.
Axel scratched his own blood from the cut desperately rubbing it into Zeke's forehead as he screamed. He rubbed and rubbed. Nothing happened. A mark now lay on Zeke's forehead.
Tallie was kneeling beside him. She was mixing the bloods together. Hers included. She then used cupped hands to gently feed Zeke the dirty mixture.
Zeke's chest rose.
A gust of breath skidded out of Axel's sore mouth.
The water was calm again.
