Axel:
It was a rough night. He had managed to get Tallie back to the castle telling his mother it is a emergency he took her fragile unconscious body to his room and placed her gently onto his bed. Axel turned to see his mother standing ominously in the doorway.
"Who is she and what is she doing here?" She didn't bother whispering. Axel and his mother never had a normal relationship. He had always treated his mother as his boss. They had never hugged. kissed. And Axel would think he was dreaming if the words I love you came out of her narrow mouth.
"look I know this doesn't mean anything to you but she's." He said this in a whisper that could turn into a hiss at any moment. "She's and orange blood." His mother's eyes widen in surprise.
"On my." and awkward pause lingered suspiciously in the heated air between them. She turned and left. Her black heels tapping down the wooden hallway.
He slept on the floor that night. A gust of wind broke though the crack in the uneven window aiming for the clump of hair that was spread across his hard pillow. This happened every time he was about to doze of into his pitiful sleep.
5:30am
Axel had given up on sleep. A hurricane raged outside in the steamy sunlight. Tallie's eyes slowly unsealed themselves.
"rough sleep?" He said rotating his head to the noisy casement.
She nodded. A comfortable silence slipped into the chamber.
Axel started getting change.
"I I don't have any cloths." She said quietly staring out the window. The hurricane had suddenly stopped. Her blue eyes had somehow transmuted to a lighter shade of emerald blue. He had never seen Tallie in the light. Her cheeks were wine red decorated with uneven freckles, and her hair was perfectly vertical and it appeared to be a lighter blond with stipes of luminosity brown.
"Of course you can borrow some of mine." He found his smallest cloths in the depths of his deep end draws.
They changed on different sides of Axel's room
Hours passed in silence as they read multiple books. Until they ended up on the window sill of the room.
"I've been thinking." Tallie said. A state of serenity echoed in her voice.
"We need to kill the other orange bloods."
