Lan Danaya : Ang Paggising

It was the most embarrassing moment of my life. Lahat nang hiya ay nag sink in saken nang makarating ako sa bahay... kahit nilalamig na ako pinagpawisan pa ako ng bongga.

Binati agad ako ni mimi, ang alagang shitzu ni Sha.

"Hi mimi, wheres your mama?" Sabay haplos ko sa mabalahibo nitong katawan.

Mukhang tahimik ang bahay nang oras na iyon. Parang ako lang mag isa. Wala din ung kotse ni Pong at parang wala pa rin si Megan at ung boyfriend niya dahil wala pa ung mga sapatos nila sa may pinto.

Dali dali akong umakyat sa taas at kinuha ang tuwalya. Kailangan kong maligo dahil basang basa ako sa ulan. Di ako pwedeng lagnatin. Di pwedeng umabsent sa work.

Speaking of being absent parang gusto ko tuloy magkasakit na lang. Dahil sa ginawa ko kanina parang ayoko na muna siyang makita... nakakahiya talaga... though alam ko naman na di siya tsismoso pero malay ko ba di ko siya gaanong kilala.

I immediately took a shower. Saglit lang... nagbanlaw lang ako kasi ayoko namang magbabad masyado din sa tubig.

Then I heard the landline rang.... followed by mimi barking like crazy.. Its very unusual for her to bark over a phone ringing. I slightly opened the door and checked kung may tao ba sa labas pero wala naman... and the phone is still ringing and mimi did not stop barking.

I ended my shower and immediately took the towel to cover myself.

"Mimi whats wrong baby..." i tried to make her calm. But its not working... I looked at the phone and checked it the caller id is listed but it shows unknown.  Ayoko sanang sagutin pero parang ayaw nitong tumigil sa pag riring which is making mimi a bit frustrated.

I reached the phone and answered it.

"Hello." Bati ko.

"Hi..... Jewelle." A female voice... Parang nasa mid forties... at sa boses niya parang kilala niya ako.

"Yeah who's this." I asked.

"How are you my child?" She asked.

The voice is now giving me creeps. No one has called me that before and no one knew my landline number. Di ko ito binibigay kahit sa mga kapatid ko.

"Im fine... im sorry who is this again?" I bravely asked again.

"Its doesnt matter now... what matters now is you... are you really ok dear? Are you sure no wierd  thing is happening to you right now?..." her voice is so low, still unfamiliar...

And those words just caught me. Bumalik sa alaala ko lahat ng nangyari nitong mga nakaraang araw.. from the broken vaces and frames and glasses to the voice i heard when Ken did not even lift his lips.... my heartbeat just went wild and seems like i can no longer breathe... My tongues are now tied as well..

Then I heard mimi bark again.. this time she is barking on the side table that has a glass of water on top - its shaking... I looked at the walls and seems like the frames there are shaking wild, its seems like following my heartbeat.... then I looked at the mirror, a big mirror hanging on the wall... it is slowly shaking... vibrating...

Then the mirror broke.... my eyes just got bigger when I saw it break...

Then the women spoke again...

"Thats just the beginning my dear, i cant wait for you to awaken....  COMPLETELY...."

Hindi ko na inantay na madugtungan pa niya ang sinasabi niya... I hang up the phone... still shocked... startled....

I sat on the stair and just cried.... I dont know whats happening... And now, after what happen, it seems like I dont know who I am...

She slowly put down the phone..... Smiled

"Hindi ko akalaing ganon lang kadali ang lahat.... Anytime soon, she will awaken..."

"May kailangan po ba kaming gawin?.." sabi nang isang lalakeng may pilat sa mata...

"Gawin?.... Hahahaha" tumawa ito nang malakas "Wala.... mag aantay lang tayo nang tamang panahon... Panahon ng pag gising nang aking pamangkin...."
