The fading of the sun and the crumbling of the moon

It takes you a few minutes to climb up the escalators and to walk across multiple platforms to get to Day-care entry. You remember coming here 3 times when you were little, the last time was the last time you ever saw of moon and sun, especially as moon drop had admitted that he wouldn't be around for long (Moon drop chapter).

"This place doesn't look like it was shut down by will, it looks, so messy and depleted?" Cassidy calls. She is right, the Pizza plex itself when you walked in looked ransacked and destroyed, the same with all the corridors and how full of random objects they had on the floors. You go over to 2 plushies on the floor, burnt and dusty, a moon and sun plush, both looking sorry for themselves.

"Maybe, just vandals who wanted to have fun in here whilst the place was closed" you say, kicking the lose paper documents on the floor.

"They can't have, the Pizzaplex interior and exterior isn't destroyed, just decorations. "Where we broke in from the front, there were no broken windows, doors or ceilings, I got a feeling we are the only ones who have broken in"

You look at Cassidy and nod in agreement, "I always forget you have brains Cass".

"I lost my brain when you told me about coming here"

"You should've kept it"

"Yeah, but-"

"Hold up..." you interrupt.

You notice the tunnel in which you enter the day-care itself. However, its entryway is blocked with cushions, chair legs and bricks. Without hesitation, you run up to the mess and pull each object out one by one. Cassidy runs up behind you, nudges you aside and joins in. The both of you frantically pull out whatever you could next.

"Why are there bricks wedged in here?" Cassidy huffs.

You think the same thing.

'Maybe... maybe its someone's warning to stop us going in here, is it dangerous down there?'

Cassidy leans more into the partly cleared tunnel to help dig the rest of the objects out.

"Nearly done here Y/N, Ah-!"

You snap out of your stance and notice Cassidy had gone down the tunnel. She had accidentally slipped and pushed the objects down, her following suite.

"Hold on, I'm coming, can you hear me?" You shout, the twisty tunnel echoes your voice.

"Yeah, it's safe to come down!"

You put your legs first and cross your arms over your chest, just like you did when you were a kid here every time you went down this slide. As you slide down, the wind gushes through your hair. You feel like how you felt when you were a kid going down this slide, it was exhilarating.

However, when you shoot out the other end of the tube, you don't get such a soft landing.

"Ouch, what the-"

The ball pit was nearly bare, you had landed on the wooden floor of the ball pit, the couple of the balls spaced out away from your body.

"Yeah, quite the painful landing" Cassidy coo's, offering her hand to help you up. As you get up, you take a quick glimpse of the playground and swings. The foam slides and bricks were torn, like a dog's fluffy bear after tug of war. The swings were snapped and everything else had just dusted over. This was quite the opposite to a childhood dream, more like a childhood nightmare.

"I, uh when you met this animatronic, was he friendly?" Cassidy says, gripping onto your right shoulder tightly. Cassidy had never seen the sun/moon animatronics, she had no idea what to expect. "He was friendly, did scare me a bit when we were first introduced, anyway I don't think he could even be powered or functional, don't worry" You assure Cassidy.
