"Ellie, Victoria." I feel my shoulder being shaken. I open up my eyes to see Victoria's twin sister Katherine standing there. Katherine was an exact copy of my mother. Long blonde hair, sweet sensitive personality, quick witted, and stubborn. My sister had the purest soul, and a golden heart. I smiled up at her and she giggled. "Mother, and papa are going crazy looking for you. They've practically torn apart the whole castle. Besides its dinner time. She speaks. I nod and gently woke up Victoria. "Vicky, its time for dinner. And mother and papa are searching for us." I say softly. She stirred a bit and her eyes fluttered open. "Good evening." I smiled at my older sister. "Hello little sister." She smiled up at me. I grasped her hand and pulled her off the ground. She dusted off her skirt and we left the library.
We got to the dining hall, where Ingeras, and Katherine sat talking quietly. "Elle! Vicky! Thank god you're alright! Where have you been?!?" Imgeras asked engulfing us in a hug. "We were in library. We fell asleep talking. Kat found us. Why is everybody been worried about us?" I asked confused. "Turks broke into the castle. We were afraid they had kidnapped you." He said holding us close. "Ingeras! Have the girls come through?" Mothers scared and heartbroken voice called out. The sound of two pairs of footsteps echoed off the walls. Ingeras released us from our hug and we turned around. Relief crossed over mothers face, but it was gone as soon as it came and was replaced by anger. "Victoria Rose and Elise Violet! Where in the world have you been?!?" She wailed. We looked down in shame knowing that we had scared our mother so badly and probably scared father too. "Do you have any idea how scared we were?!?" She continued. "We are sorry. We were in the library. We fell asleep reading." I said barley above a whisper. "Well all that matters is that you are safe and unharmed." Papa said, pulling us into a hug. "We were so worried something had happened to you. I don't know what I would do if I lost you girls." Mother did hugging us tightly. "I'm sorry mum, I didn't mean to upset you this morning. And I certainly didn't meant to scare you half to death." I said into her shoulder. "Its alright, my darling. Its over now. Now, let's go eat we are all hungry." She said. We all took our seats and began to eat.
As soon as we finished, we exited the dining hall to the den, an old family tradition. I sat down on a small caouch with Ingeras and rested my head in his shoulder. "You know you really gave them a real scare." He said. "I know. I didn't mean to." I shrugged. "I think, you are starting to drive mother to her wits end." He said with a small smile. "Then my job is being done correctly." I say in a joking voice.
After a couple of hours later I was sitting on the floor while. Katherine sat on a couch behind me plaiting my hair. "What on earth are you doing?" Ingeras asked. "I am doing a reversed plait." Kat spoke back not looking up from her work. "What in gods name is that?" He asked very confused. "Its a type of plait. It very complex and I do not know how she does it." I say. "Its official women are completely confusing, and I will never understand them." He said shaking his head. "Good. It means we are doing our job correctly." I smirk. Mother and Victoria laughed. While dad and Kat chuckled. I smiled and waited till Kat was done. "There all finished." She said letting the plait fall to the side of my face. I smile her and thank her before sitting next to her on the couch.
"Papa, will you please tell us a story?" I ask. "Please Papa. You tell the best stories!" We begged him. "Alright, alright. I was quick to scurry over and sit in my usual spot during story time.... My fathers lap. I quickly snuggled into his chest ready to hear a good story as always. Dad told us stories about, what the world was like out side of our kingdom.
I rested against his chest listening go his soft and steady heart beat. The sound soothed me and acted as a calming melody. I often got scared during my father's stories, but I love them. I smile up at my dad as he looks down at me. I could see the love and affection in his soft blue eyes.
Everybody tells me that I look exactly like my father, and its true I do look like dad. My dad is my greatest hero and role model. He helps me through rough patches in my crazy life, and always makes am effort to spend a little bit of time with me. I look around at my family and smile in happiness. These are the moments I live for. The little moments that my whole family is together and we don't have to be the perfect royal family we are for the public. This side of us is the side we use around each other. We play and laugh and just have a merry time in watch others company.
I smile at mother and she smiles back at me. I look over at Vicky and Kat and giggle at them being strange. I then look at Ingeras who is reading a book. Finally I look up at my dad who is leaning against the back of the chair with a smile in his face. I lean back against his chest as I always do. He rest my head against his shoulder and smile. Once again listening to the sound of his strong and steady heart beat. The steady thump creating a soft lullaby that lulled me to sleep. I feel my self being lift and carried off somewhere I do not know where.
