Chapter 10

~a few months later~

I was out with my father scouting when Roseous called for dad. I had a bad feeling settling in my stomach. The feeling of being watched. "I have a bad feeling about this place." I said. Dad looked at me and turned back to Roseous. "Its a Turkish helmet." Dad said. I placed my hand on my sword and linked around. Something is not right. "This was washed down stream." Dad said. "Can we kill the chit chat and get out of here? I don't feel like being attacked by Turks." I snap. Dad glares says something to Roseous. "Take Elise back to the castle, bring her to her mother." He said. "But-" I started. Dad shot me a glare meaning "be quiet". I shut my mouth and slumped down on to a rock. I sighed and sat there quietly. "You alright kiddo?" Andre asked. "I'm fine. Just feel ignored." I say quietly. "I'm sorry Elle. I'm listening if you want to tell me what you wanted to say." He said. "I have this feeling, one I only get when someone is watching me." I said. "You think we're being watched?" He asked, I nodded. "Yes. I can sense when somebody is watching me. Its just something that I have." I said. "Alright. Don't worry you are safe. Your father myself and the others are here." He assured me. "That's not what I'm worried about. Turks don't travel in small numbers they travel in packs, like wolves. 50-150 at a time. There is only 6 of us. We'll be greatly out numbered." I state. "Do not fear little one. You will be alright." Andre comforted. "Thanks My friend it means a lot." I say hugging him gently. "You are welcome princess." He said. I groaned. "Please Don't call me that." I said. "My apologies." He said. I smiled at him. I rolled my eyes at the men standing around me. Andre stood and whispered something to my father. "Well I'm going back to the castle. If you need me you know where to find me." I said beginning to walk away. "Elise." Roseous spoke. "Yes?" I asked stopping to turn and face him. "Let me escourt. You back." He said. "Thank you but No Thank you. I can find my way back myself." I said. I began to tromp away when my father's voice echoed through the woods. "Elise!" I once again stopped and turned towards him. "Yes father dearest?" I ask sarcastically. "Where are you going?" He asked. "I already told you I'm going, H-O-M-E, home." I said. "I thought you wanted to come with me." He pointed out. "I did. But I am growing bored. And what is the point of being here when I can not do or say anything?" I asked with some attitude. Before trudging through the woods again.
I was about 3/4 of the way home when a branch snapped loudly. I grabbed my sword and whipped around. "Who's there?" I asked. Holding my sword up in defense. "Show yourself!" I snapped. Suddenly 3 Turkish soldiers attacked me from all sides. I fought one with my sword and threw my dagger at another. My dagger stuck its self in the turks throat causing him to choke on his own blood. I Cut the soldier I was fighting's arm half off. I then started fighting the last one. I was quick to drive my dagger into his heart and my sword through his throat. I ripped both weapons out of his body and pulled out my horn. I blew it hard signaling for help. Not 20 minutes later Dad and the others were by my side. "Elise! What happened here?!?" Dad asked. I looked my dad in his eyes and began to cry. Dad pulled me into a hug and cradled me close holding me and rubbing my back. "Daddy. I-I was a-a-attacked." I sobbed. "Shhh. Its alright angel. You are safe now." He soothed. "I k-killed them daddy. I killed them. I'm a murderer." I sobbed harder. "Its alright angel Hush." He said holding me tight. "Roseous take Elise home. Bring her straight to her mother." Dad said handing me to Roseous. Roseous gave me a piggy back the whole way home.
We arrived back at castle Dracula where mum and my sibling were waiting. "Roseous where is Vlad?" Mum asked. "He is still scouting. He sent me to bring miss Elise home. She had a small run in with the turks." He answered. Mum gasped. "Is she alright?" She asked. "Shes fine she may have killed them." He said mouthing the last part. "She's just extremely frightened." He answered. He handed me over to mum. "Thank you Roseous. For keeping her safe." She said. "My pleasure my lady." Roseous answered rustling my hair. I hugged my mum and sobbed. "Mum I'm scared. I'm a murderer." I sobbed. "Shh. No you are not. You were defending yourself." She told me. Ingeras soon took me from mums arms and hugged me along with Vicky and Kat. "Mum I am going to take her to bed. She's had a very long day." He told mum. She nodded kissing my cheek. Ingeras carried me up to my room and placed me on the floor I quickly changed into my nightgown and slid into bed. Ingeras tucked the blankets around me and kissed my forehead. "Sweet dreams Ellie. You are safe now." He said. I smiled weakly and snuggled into bed.
I shot up screaming from a nightmare." I heard footsteps running towards my rooms. Mum and Dad burst into the room. They looked at me with sympathetic eyes. I began to cry once again and dad pulled me into his chest. "Shh. Baby it was just a dream you are alright." Mum said. "No, no. It was real. It was all real." I sobbed hard into dads chest. He rubbed my back soothingly like he always did to calm me down. "Elise Its alright. You are scaring yourself." Dad said. He layed with me til I fell back asleep.
