Chapter 4

        I awoke in my bed the next morning, bright and early, long before the sun was even up. My mother wasn't even up yet. I jumped out of bed and slid into my dancing dress. I grabbed my pointe shoes and I skipped off to the ball room quietly, careful not to wake my parents or siblings.
     I quietly opened the door and slid through into the large room. I silently closed the door, and turned to the open floor. I sat down and pulled on my shoes, I laced them up and stood up. I quietly started humming to my self, soon enough I began singing quietly. I danced to the words and rhythm I sung. I crossed the floor, leaping, twirling, and dancing.
     After I had finished the song and stopped dancing, soft clapping rang out thought the dark room. I gasped and turned. Victoria and Katherine stood in the shadows. "My goodness. You gave me a fright." I said. "Elise you dance and sing so beautifully!" Katherine said excitedly. "Katherine lower your voice. Mother and papa are sleeping. So is Ingeras." I say to her. She instantly quieted down. "Elise Violet, why are you up so early?" Victoria asked sternly. "I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. I did fall asleep early yesterday." I say simply. "Now if you'll excuse me I wish to resume my former activity." I say. "Can you teach me that dance?" Katherine asked. "I do not see why not." I said and told her to follow my lead and just to stay flat foot. She copied the stuff I did, I also slowed it all down for her so she could learn. She picked quite quickly and began to go up on her toes. Soon enough Victoria joined in. By the time the sun had come up they had mastered the dance and we were just running through it a hundred times. "Wow. That is so much fun." Victoria smiled. I nodded and took off my shoes. "I'm going to go get dressed. I suggest you do too." I said.
    I ran to my room and got into a dress. I came down stairs for breakfast and mother and father weren't there yet so they must be still sleeping. I saw a maid come and I called her over. I asked her to make a special breakfast for the family. She nodded and hurried off. I smiled and was quick to set the table and sit down. Soon the maids and butlers were setting fresh food down on the table just in time for Victoria, Katherine, and Ingeras to walk in. I told them the plan I had in store to surprise mum and dad, they nodded in agreement and added a few personal touches. Victoria had some music being played, Katherine added some flowers to the table, and Ingeras had small noted left on mum and dads plates. We all signed the notes. Victoria wrote them because she had the neatest handwriting.
        Soon after that, we all scurried off to Get dressed into something nicer than what we were wearing. After we were all dressed and everything was set, we waited. The moment we heard mum and dads voices we hid behind the wall. The sound of the door opening signaled they were here. I heard a soft gasp from mum. "What is all this?" Mum asked in shock. "Did you do this?" She asked papa. "No it was not me and the children are still in bed. I went to see if they were awake and they were all tucked up in their blankets." Papa said to her. I peaked my head around and watched them sit down. Mother picked up her note and so did Papa.

Dear Papa,
We just wanted to say thank you for being the best father, that ever lived. We appreciate all the things you do for us and we love you.

Mother had tears in her eyes and dad was smiling. I gave the signal and we all walked out. "Good morning." We all said in unison. Mother and papas heads snapped up. They stood up and walked over to us. "Did you four plan all this?" Mother asked. We all nodded. "It was all Elise's idea." Ingeras said. "Well the original idea was, but we all added things. So really it was all of our ideas." I said. "How on earth did you all plan this in such a short time?" Dad asked. "We were up before dawn." I said with a small shrug. Mother looked at me shocked. "Why so early?" She asked. "We knew we had a lot to do so, we got up early to get a head start and to make sure we had everything in place before you both woke up. It took a lot of effort to be quiet so we would not wake you." Katherine spoke up. We all nodded in agreement. "Well its wonderful. Thank you." Mother said huggin us. Dad soon gave us all a hug and we all sat down to eat. "I must say. This is certainly something I didn't expect." Dad said, we all beamed. It wasn't easy to surprise dad, he was always expecting the unexpected. So to surprise him was something that rarely happened. "I'm most shocked to hear that Elise came up with this whole idea." He said. I blushed and looked down at my plate. "We were too. She has a clever mind, she always has some little trick up her sleeve." Ingeras spoke softly. I blushed even more but that was to hard to hide. "Awe, she is red." Victoria spoke. "Again, it wasn't all my idea. The flowers were Katherine, the music was victoria, and it was Ingeras's idea to make it seem like we were still fast asleep." I said. "Yes, however it was you clever thinking to do all this." He said. I rolled my eyes and continued eating. This was a perfect morning.
