When she turns over in bed and sees Jungkook standing in the doorway, leaning against the frame as he stares out the window at the moon, she isn't surprised.
He's made a habit of doing this every night recently. Though he still hasn't laid in the bed with her, he has sat on the floor next to her a handful of times.
Because of what happened this morning, she is now terrified that he is trying to slowly separate himself from her. Now, instead of feeling hopeful every time he does some small gesture aimed towards her, she feels dread every time he leaves the house without speaking to her and every time he decides to sleep on the couch instead of sleeping in their bed.
She watches him silently, his features somber as he watches the stars twinkle in the sky.
When he begins to move towards the bed, her heart skips a beat as he walks to his side of the bed instead of sitting on the floor, and when he tentatively sits down on the bed, she has to hold back a sob.
Jungkook gulps as he lays down in their bed, pulling the blankets over him as his head rests against the pillow.
He stares at the ceiling, his tears glistening in the moonlight.
"I don't think I can stay here anymore, baby," he whispers into the darkness. "It hurts too much."
