Chapter Five

          “We’re here” Zack said parking the car. “Cool “I stared out the window looking at the colorful lights of the bowling alley sign. The words ‘Mick’s bowling lanes’ were bright enough to blind. Zack ran around the car to open the door for me and almost busted his ass. I laughed a little. “Thank you” I said as he held his hand out for me to reach for it and step out of the car. We linked arms and walked inside.

            “Just the way I remember it from last year” I said. Nothing has changed since I’ve been here last from the sound of pins being knocked down and the smell of pizza from the eating area. We got our shoes and made a bet. “If I win I get whatever I want and if you win….” I thought of something that wouldn’t be to harsh on me. “ a kiss “ he said. He continued “ it’s a little unfair but deal.” We shook hands.

            I was up first and STRIKE. I jumped up and down with excitement. “Your turn Zacky” I said hand him his bowling ball.

“Zacky ...oh I like the sound of that.” He rolled the ball knocking down only two pins. “I’m a little rusty haven’t played in a while.” He said. “Um yeah that’s the reason” I joked. He went again. He missed and the ball went straight in the gutter. “Aw, don’t feel sad Zacky I’m going to win” I said all cocky. He put on a smirk that made me blush again. For some reason I just wanted to attack him must be my hormones.

            We played two games and I won both. “So what are you going to make me do” Zack asked. “You’ll just have to wait and see.” I said back. We gave back our shoes and decide to play at the arcade the bowling alley had. We played street fighter my favorite game. He was really good at the game that he beat me the five times that we played. “Look a photo booth “ Zack pointed out.

            “Do you want to? “ Zack asked. I didn’t even answer and like a thread I pulled him. We put in fifty cents and waited for the flashes.

We broke apart to see how the pictures came out and they came out great. “This will be memories of us.” Zack said making me smile.

This moment seemed so perfect nothing could ruin this moment. We open the curtain and walked out. I bumped into someone’s chest and fell back. Zack caught me “Hey Brian, what are you doing here?” Zack asked.  ‘This is just fucking great’ I thought to myself.

 “Sup Brian” I said emotionless but on the inside I was raging. “Nothing just here with my girl Becky and you guys?” he raised a brow at us. “Just here on our first date having a blast” Brian looked shocked at what Zack was saying. “Oh cool, that’s great” Brian said. I just nodded staying completely silent. “I’m going to get us some drinks Sam” Zack said kissing me on the cheek. Zack left me alone with Brian while Brian waited for his “quick fuck” I mean girl.

             There was awkward silence.” So you and Zack huh?” he asked. “Yup” I said simply. He moved closer to me and took my hand in his. “What are you doing?” I asked trying to pull my hand from his but he didn’t let go. He whispered in my ear. “I want to fuck you” my eyes widen as I heard those words. “What?” I said in complete shock. “You heard me” he placed my hand beneath his belt area. He made my hand rub against IT. “What the hell is wrong with you?” I pulled my hand away with force and went to find Zack.  I found Zack who had just gotten our drinks. I hugged him tightly. “Is something wrong? Where’s Brian?”  He asked.

            “Nothing’s wrong I just …. missed you. I don’t know where Brian went off.” I had to make up this lie if I told him he wouldn’t have believed me. It always seems that guys listen to guys more than girls especially more if the guy is their best friend.

            We drank the sodas Zack ordered for us both and decided to call it a night. We were driving all I kept doing was replaying that moment with Brian. What was up with him? Why would he do that? Does he like me? I sure hope not.

            “Hey Samantha, why are you so quiet?” Zack snapped me from my thoughts. THINK SAM. “I was just thinking of what an awesome time I had with you tonight” he kissed my cheek. I felt bad of what happen. I looked down at the pictures we took. The thought of me losing Zack when we just started, made my heart ache.

            “Zack, this was amazing thank you” he leaned down to kiss me. Feeling moments like this makes me think there is a heaven but the back of my mind Brian kept me from enjoying this. The front door opened. I heard a cough and of course it had to be Matt. We broke apart. “Hey Matt” Zack said scratching his head. “Good night Zack” I said and so did Matt. I waved good bye as he got into the car.

            “I suppose you had a good time.” Matt said as I made way to my room. “No I didn’t” I said. “You didn’t have a good time” he asked. “No something happened that I don’t want to talk about” I said. I heard anger in his voice “WHAT DID ZACK DO TO YOU?”

“Nothing, Zack was nice to me the whole night. It was Brian” I said. His eyes widen at the mention of Brian’s name. “What happened?” He asked. “Nothing, forget about it.” I closed the door in his face. Why Brian? Why now? Why when I just started liking Zack?
