Sora stared. Yuki and Kyo stared back, panting lightly.
They stayed like that for a few seconds, staring open mouthly at the other. Then Sora hugged Tohru protectively.
"I won't let you do anything to her, you hear me?! She's mine!" She exclaimed loudly. Tohru jumped in surprise.
Kyo glared at Sora. "What did you think we did, kidnap her? Actually, why are you even here? You can't just come into our house unannounced."
Sora deadpanned. "This is my home. I bought it for 480,000 yen (around 4,000 american dollars) 2 or three 3 years ago."
"Huh?" Yuki said, confused. "What do you mean? This is Shigure's house... SHIGURE!"
Kyo smacked his face. "I knew I shouldn't have trusted that weirdo! Anyways, who are you, and what the hell are you doing here?"
Sora frowned. "You mean you don't remember me? I beat you so bad last time we fought," she untangled herself from Tohru and stood up, sticking out her hand. "I'm Sora Hayasaka."
Yuki and Kyo stared, not believing the girl. "You're joking."
"Wait, how do you know each other?" Tohru asked politely, "Are you childhood friends?"
"I met Yuki one day, and the next day I met Kyo," Sora explained, nodding as if that explained everything. Tohru stared at her.
"She helped me get home safely, and somehow she met Kyo through a woman or someway," Yuki explained, "Then after finding out that we both knew her, she basically spent all her time with us."
Tohru smiled happily. "I'm glad all of my friends know each other! Well, since you're home now anyways, should we eat?"
"Yeah!"
~~~
Yuki and Kyo watched Tohru and Sora happily munch on mochi. Tohru looked up to see the two boys staring at her. Getting flustered, she waved her arms and asked, "Why are you staring at me like that? Are you okay? Do you want to say something to Sora?"
Sora looked up at the sound of her name and shrugged. Then she jumped up.
"Oh my, I almost forgot. I need to grab my dessert!" She exclaimed, and ran towards the door.
She grabbed her packages and started to head back but decided better of it, instead walking slowly to overhear the conversation quietly.
"You're eating too quickly. Eat slower," She overheard Kyo say.
"Mochi is better when you savor the flavor," Yuki agreed.
"You too? What's up with you guys?" Tohru responded. Sora peeked her head over the door. She saw Tohru look at her bowl indignantly. She could tell what Tohru was thinking. Probably something along the lines of "Do people really choke on mochi?" or "Are they being paranoid?" she giggled quietly, then walked back into the room just in time to hear the phone ring.
"I'll get it," Sora announced, dropping off her goods and walking out of the room to grab the telephone. She wanted to maximize her friend's time with Yuki and Kyo. She could catch up with them later.
"Hello?" she asked.
"Hello. This is Uotani, I'm calling to talk to Tohru," said a deep, feminine voice.
"Okay," she replied, "Tohru! A friend is calling you!"
Tohru dashed into the room, and accepted the telephone from Sora, and said, "Who is it?"
Sora quietly crept back into the room. "A friend," Sora whispered in reply to Yuki and Kyo's stares.
"Oh, I see." She had achieved nothing. Tohru still had to call.
The three ate quietly, Sora munching on her many desserts of cake, cupcakes, and chocolate, offering some to both boys. Yuki accepted a chocolate, while Kyo declined. They ate in silence, something that Sora had mastered. Always alone, Sora had adapted to being alone, and she had a computer inside her brain. She was able to thrive in silence, and liked to be alone despite her social demeanor.
"So," Yuki began, "What happened after you left?"
"Well, as you know, I left 2 years ago before High School or something," Sora replied, "and I went to my parent's house. Obviously, they live in a house in America, so I went to spend time with them. I was supposed to stay with them for only a few months, but I ended up staying with them for 2 years or something because my grandma was getting old and about to pass, sadly."
"I went to school there, and it was way easier, and then came back for New Year's. I came back to MY home, but someone was in here," she looked pointedly at Yuki. Yuki frowned.
"It wasn't my fault. Blame my stupid cousin."
"Yeah, you have MILLIONS OF COUSINS! WHICH ONE DO I BLAME?!" Sora yelled, glaring mockingly at Yuki. She sighed and looked to Kyo. "Wanna go?"
"You bet," Kyo replied, grinning widely. "I'll beat you this time! I've been training the whole time you were away! I'm gonna crush you first, then Yuki!"
"Oh really?" Sora asked, "I haven't done this in a while," she sighed, "I might even lose."
Tohru walked in once again just as the two were getting up and getting into form.
"Huh?" Tohru asked, "What's happening?"
"They're starting, Miss Tohru," Yuki replied, "Please sit down and enjoy the show."
"Start what?" Tohru questioned, looking slightly scared.
"Oh yeah, you haven't seen this yet, have you, Tohru?" Sora sighed, then grinned widely. "We have something of a fighting competition annually, except for last year and the year before," she motioned towards Kyo, and they started fighting.
"How did this happen?" Tohru thought as she watched the two friends fight. But she was glad. Really glad that she could be with her friends, happily eating and laughing. She hadn't thought that she deserved such happiness, but she had gotten it. She was so thankful to be with her friends and knew she was really fortunate-
"Ha! I win! Again! five years in a row! Skip two but whatever! Ha!" Sora cheered happily, dancing around with her arms waving around.
"I can't believe you've lost five years in a row, Kyo. You lost against her so what makes you think you can win against me?" Yuki said, shaking his head disapprovingly. Kyo glared at Yuki.
"FINE! If you think you're so good, you try beating her yourself!" Kyo replied angrily, stomping his feet like a crazy weirdo. Sora nodded.
"Be careful, Mr. Soma," Tohru said nervously. Yuki smiled.
"Okay, sure," Yuki agreed. He smiled at Sora and said, "Do you want to fight?"
"No."
...
"Why not? You beat me to a pulp and now you don't want to fight Yuki!" Kyo protested angrily, "I at least want to see you beat up Yuki!"
"Huh? Wait, what do you want me to do?" Sora asked.
"Uhhhhh, fight? me?" Yuki replied, confused.
"Oh, sorry," Sora said with a unconvincing laugh. "I was distracted. But sure, Yuki, I'll fight you if you want."
The fight was over in a few seconds.
Sora grinned at the extra chocolate in her hand. She knew he passed out from too much sugar. Though maybe she shouldn't have done that..?
Oh well, it was too late for that now, she decided. Grabbing Yuki's arm, she dragged him towards Tohru, who looked slightly shocked and flustered. Which all made sense.
"Sorry," Sora mumbled, smiling slightly. "I might've gone overboard with that one."
"It's... okay. I'm just glad you're here!" Tohru smiled happily at the white haired girl. She was so glad that she had seen her child friend once again. The reunion was unexpected, but was a happy one nonetheless. She hoped that they could stay together forever.
Forever. What a strange word, isn't it. Little did she know what was to come.
