Two chapters in a day? *gasp* it's a miracle.
"No." Yelena deadpanned.
"Absolutely not." Natasha agreed.
"You can't say no," Tony smiled, "You're literally the only bait that would work."
Yelena and Natasha frowned at him. His grin only grew.
The plan won't work with you as the bait. You'll only mess up and ruin everything, The dark voice quietly whispered to Yelena again.
She tried to ignore it.
"You know I'm right!" Tony said, "What am I saying, I'm always right!"
"Except for when you're not," Wanda reminded him.
"Shhhh! We don't talk about those moments!" Tony replied, sending her a half-hearted glare.
"Come on!" Lila chipped in, "It's probably the only plan that will work."
Natasha turned to Bruce, "Bruce?"
He sighed, "As much as I hate having to put you two in danger while you're recovering.... Tony's right."
"Ha!" Tony laughed, "I TOLD YOU ALL! Friday! Add Bruce saying that to the file 'I'm always right and they all know it'"
"Right away, Sir," the AI replied, "Shall I also add you singing the new versions of songs you came up with in the shower this morning to that file?"
"FRIDAY!" Tony shouted, "NO FRIDAY! SHHH!"
"Ooooh, Friday can you send me the audio of Tony singing in the shower?" Clint asked.
"Of course, Vent Golem," Friday replied.
"Friday NO!"
"Too late!" the AI replied. Was that a smug tone of voice? Could AIs even be smug?
"I'm still not being bait," Yelena said.
Tony glared at her, "Yes you are."
"No."
Forty minutes later, Natasha and Yelena found themselves sitting in the trees outside of the compound.
"Why are we here again?" Yelena grumbled.
"Of course Tony's plan would be for us to sit outside and wait for Inaya to attack us," Natasha said, "It's just as stupid as any other plan he's thought of."
"I can hear you, you know," Tony's voice said over the comms they had in their ears.
"Good," Natasha replied.
Captain America, Tony, Sam, Bucky, and Clint were positioned in various places across the compound grounds. Each one had a comm, and each one was ready for whatever could happen next. Wanda, Lila, and Bruce were inside with Pepper, Morgan, and Peter.
They were busy watching cams and were there in case anything went wrong. Lila wasn't happy she was stuck inside because of her injury, so they gave her a comm and told her she could be back up.
"So we just... wait?" Sam asked.
"Exactly!" Yelena could practically hear Tony grinning.
She turned to Natasha, "Все твои друзья глупы и бесполезны, и я хочу, чтобы они превратились в собак. (All your friends are stupid and useless and I wish they would be turned into dogs)"
