It was February 14 now. Four days before Basil's birthday, a week before Sunny leaves, and also Valentine's Day. What's the best thing to do other than to spend it with all your friends?

A picnic at the park would be too boring. So they readied themselves to set up a campfire at night, in the place where they could reminisce old times: Their secret hangout. Not so secret anymore, though, because in a matter of a few months, it'll be renovated. One of the places that gave them so many good memories is going to be gone soon, but that's okay – they can always make new ones, especially now that they're older.

Sunny was in Basil's house. They planned to group with the others just a little later. He was lying on the couch, reading some book about flowers that he randomly picked up from one of Basil's bookshelves. He thought it'd be boring, but it actually interested him. He always thought sunflowers were only small – then it turns out there's tall ones and dwarf ones. The tallest sunflower ever record was even 30 feet! He'd never seen those big types before, so he thought it'd be nice to go to a sunflower meadow one day with Basil. That would be a nice date.

The flower boy slowly inched himself towards Sunny, hiding something behind his back. He knelt on the floor just in front of him.

"Hm?" Sunny noticed. He put down the book on his chest. "You need anything?"

"Happy Valentine's!" he greeted him happily, giving him a bag of chocolates, that Polly apparently made. Basil did take part of it, though. Besides watching her make them in awe, he helped with the mixing and grinding, and also decided which mold they'd use.

Sunny took the chocolates. There was ribbon wrapped around it, and a little note that read: Happy Valentine's Day, my Sunny. I hope you can enjoy these little guys. There's some flowers and a sun, maybe you can water them too.

That reference made Sunny smile unconsciously, and his eyes turned to Basil; he looked as if he was really anticipating a response. Why was he being so cute today?

"This is really sweet of you," he kissed his cheek. "Thank you. You made these?"

"In a way...yeah..." he scratched his head, a bit shy. "It was mostly Polly, though."

Sunny ruffled his hair, "It's the thought that counts. Happy Valentine's Day to you too."

Basil liked the feeling of Sunny playing with his hair.

"We should be heading to the secret hangout soon."

"Oh, you're right – Aubrey's going to get really mad if we're late," Sunny laughed. She always reminded them that she was serious about being on time for the past two weeks.

"Do you think...we should tell them...? About us?"

"I'm sure they already know."

Basil pouted. "Yeah, but a confirmation is different! Don't you think that'd make us...I don't know, kind of more official?"

"But I haven't asked you out yet, though," he joked.

"Y-You know what I mean!"

Sunny cupped his face and pinched his cheeks gently. "I know." He gave Basil one more kiss on the cheek before standing up.

He put on his shoes. His shirt was already sleeved, but he added two more layers on it before finally wearing his winter jacket. He told Basil to do the same, but he replied saying it's not going to be that hot due to the fire. Sunny still insisted – even wrapping his own scarf on Basil's neck. It had Sunny's scent; the subtle perfume that he always wore since he moved away. He didn't complain. It had the sweet scent of lavender – it was faint, but it was there. Maybe he should start taking care of lavenders too.
