Life in a city like Mumbai

Life is a period from one's birth to one's death . Some may enjoy their whole life and some may enjoy their life . Some think life as just a period of enjoyment and some think it as a challenge to achieve something in a time-bound period .

The life and lifestyle depends a lot on the surrounding around . It differs from place to place , region to region , country to country and continent to continent . It also reflects the true face of the surrounding .

Many of my relatives outside Mumbai often ask me about the life and lifestyles of Mumbai . Most of them have seen Mumbai in films and on televisions . They have many conceptions rather misconceptions about the lifestyles of Mumbai . Its tall buildings , wide and clean roads , luxurient night life , the high paying job it offers and its capacity to make riches from rags and vice versa .

But Mumbai is not only this . The other face of Mumbai is equally black and bleak . Majority of the Mumbaikars have to strive hard to earn their daily bread and those who are not lucky enough even to earn this bread adopt to crimes . With the in flux of nearly three hundred families per day in search of their bread and butter , there is a lot of pressure on the civic administration too ! Its a Himalayan task to provide civic amenities to all these people .

No wonder , then the occurrences like 26th July 2005 take place . Unless someone tries to solve the root cause behind such things , life in Mumbai is going to witness and experience such disastrous occurrences time and again . Presently , there is a wide gap between the two lifestyles , the one day is being portrayed in media and films and the one that involves the miserable lifestyles of majority of Mumbikars . Taken together they do not portray a rosy picture about the life in Mumbai .
