Chapter 9: Jaunedice

Missouri POV

A few weeks into the first semester we were having combat class, MDGY vs CRDL. Just to say we were wiping the floor with them, Me, Kurfurst, and Yamato had recently unlocked our semblances, and we're making great use of them.

Fight

Kurfurst used her semblance to scare CRDL, this made them pause out of fear for a bit. Using this distraction I used my semblance to ram Cardin and start wiping the floor with him. Back with the others Destiny was using his magic to basically play with his food, by throwing Sky Lark into the ground and then lifting him up, and then rinsing and repeating. Kurfurst used her rigging to literally chew out Dove and then started to play with her food by making her Shark Hulls shake and slam the poor guy into the ground even attempting to rip him in half at one point. Yamato used her massive guns to get Russel to go exactly where she wants him to, she then uses her semblance to create a fiery sword-slash and sent it straight towards Russel, the poor guy got hit with the slash and was out for the count. Meanwhile Missouri had taken out Cardin using his main guns, Destiny had finished toying Sky and threw him out of bounds, and Kurfurst had already run Dove's Aura dry.

Fight end

After CRDL had been taken out completely Professor Goodwitch called the match.

Goodwitch: As you can see students team CRDL's aura is entirely in the red meaning that in a tournament style match they would be out.

Cardin: *groan* Lucky *groan* shot.

Cardin then fell to the ground.

Goodwitch: Congratulations MDGY, you should have no problems joining the Vytal Tournament next semester.

Me: Thank you ma'am.

Goodwitch: Keep up the good work. Remember, everyone, the Vytal Festival is only a few months away! It won't be long before students from the other kingdoms start arriving in Vale, so keep practicing! Those who choose to compete in the combat tournament will be representing all of Vale!

After that she dismissed the class for lunch break.

Time-Skip cafeteria

At the cafeteria Nora was telling a story while Ren was correcting her.

Nora: So! There we were, in the middle of the night...

Ren (off screen): It was day.

We were all listening with varying levels of interest, Yamato was listening carefully, Me and Destiny were more focused on eating, Kurfurst was listening and still eating, Blake was  paying no attention as she is lost in her book, and Yang is hanging on her every word with her hands cupping her face.

Nora: We were surrounded by Ursai...

Ren: They were Beowulves.

Nora: *dramtically* DOZENS OF THEM!!!

She says as she stands on the table shared by RWBY, JNPR, and MDGY, where Weiss is ignoring Nora and filing her nails, Ruby and Pyrrha are listening politely, and Jaune is messing with his food.

Ren: TWO of them.

Ruby and Pyrrha then look at Jaune concerned.

Nora: But they were no match ... And in the end, Ren and I took them down and made a boatload of Lien selling Ursa skin rugs!

Ren: She's been having this reoccurring dream for nearly a month now.

Pyrrha: Jaune? Are you okay?
