Missouri's journey through the Multi-verse

Chapter 19: The Dance

General POV

It was the night of the dance, the first song of the night had just ended and team CMEN, as Destiny affectionately calls them, had arrived. Yamato was currently shadowing them, staying inconspicuous while keeping an eye on them. Missouri and Destiny walked onto the stage a few minutes later to start the slow dance, Yamato then reports in about team CMEN's condition.

Yamato(on comms): Cinder is with Emerald and Mercury...speculating what you're gonna sing.

Missouri(on comms): Ok, give updates when necessary...and be careful honey.

Yamato(on comms): Calling me honey now eh?

Missouri chuckles as he makes his way on stage, he then announces.

Missouri: This is a song for all you lovers out there.

They then start playing Earth Angel

This song happened just after Jaune had learned that Pyrrha had come alone...perfect timing too

Flashback 3 minutes

Pyrrha is on a balcony as Jaune approaches behind her.

Jaune: (stopping) Hey, Pyrrha.

Pyrrha turns around to face him.

Pyrrha: Hello, Jaune.

Jaune: (approaching) You okay? I haven't seen you tonight.

Pyrrha: (turning back to the balcony) Arrived late, I'm afraid.

Jaune: Well, you look really nice.

Pyrrha: (raising her hand near her mouth) Thank you. (her hand falls away)

Jaune: (nervously tipping on his toes) Your, uh, date isn't going to beat me up for saying that, is he?

Pyrrha: I think you're safe for tonight.

Jaune: (rubbing his hands) So, where is the guy?

Pyrrha turns back toward Jaune.

Pyrrha: (Pyrrha's head sinks in melancholy.) There is no guy.

Jaune: (Jaune chuffs nervously.) What?

Pyrrha: (shaking her head glumly) Nobody asked me.

Jaune: But that's... (gesturing toward her) You're Pyrrha Nikos! (shrugging, dumbfounded) H-How could nobody ask you?

Pyrrha: (turning toward the balcony) I've been blessed with incredible talents and opportunities. I'm constantly surrounded by love and praise, but when you're placed on a pedestal like that for so long, you become separated from the people that put you there in the first place. (turning back to Jaune) Everyone assumes I'm too good for them. That I'm on a level they simply can't attain. It's become impossible to form any sort of meaningful relationship with people. That's what I like about you. When we met, you didn't even know my name. You treated me just like anyone else. And thanks to you, I've made friendships that will last a lifetime. I guess, you're the kind of guy I wish I was here with. Someone who just saw me for me.

Just as she says this Missouri is about to start the slow dance so she adds on.

Pyrrha: Wanna take this dance?

Jaune: U-uh s-sure.

They then walk onto the dance-floor as Missouri announces

Missouri: This is a song for all you lovers out there.

Flashback end

Back to the story, while the song was ending (2:18-end) Jaune and Pyrrha worked up the courage and kissed each other (2:35-2:38) when they pulled away Jaune waved his left hand at Missouri who waved right back. The song ends, and at that moment Kurfurst gave a status report.

Kurfurst(over comms): Sir, team CMEN hasn't left to plant the virus...I suggest distract them with hard rock.

Missouri then looked at Destiny giving him the silent order to start playing Johnny B. Goode

(Ignore 0:16-0:21, and anything beyond 1:30)

Johnny B. Goode definitely captured their imagination cause everyone was dancing to it, even Professor Goodwitch was dancing to it. Team CMEN was dancing to it, so were Yamato and Kurfurst who had never heard this music before. As soon as the song ended, they all applauded the 2 males on the stage, even Goodwitch was applauding them. As soon as the song was all done, the crowd had all dispersed to talk with friends or stir up a friendly rivalry for the upcoming tournament.

Yamato had also rejoined Missouri, who was currently mingling with the crowd, currently the two battleships were congratulating Jaune and Pyrrha with their relationship, this was when Ruby and Destiny decided to take a bit of fresh air. Kurfurst was still watching Cinder...but then again, for all we knew, Emerald could be using her semblance on Kurfurst to make it seem like Cinder was there. The only way to know if Cinder was really in the building was for Destiny to not call it in...but...

Destiny(on comms): Bad news, Cinder is out and is heading for CCT!

Missouri: Shoot (on comms) Ok Destiny, try to get the virus out as soon as Cinder plants it.

Destiny(on comms): Yes sir!

Missouri(on comms): Everyone else get ready to put 'Operation: Save Beacon' into action.

_DG_(on comms): Hai.

Missouri:*thoughts* We have to prevent the fall of Beacon if possible, if not then minimize the damage and prevent as many deaths as possible.
