"killua," the stern voice came from the older sliver haired zoldyck. His eye cat like flickered to a surprisingly relaxed kyriak for a moment, his face blank, no indicator to what he was thinking, before turning his full attention to his heir. "I was told that you made some friends"

"Yes..." he muttered sitting directly before his father, a hand holding kyriak to prevent her from walking off while thinking of a way to get himself and his friends out of the deadly situation.

"How are they?"

"Pff how?" killua spoke not looking at his father, "I Dunno when we're together its cool"

"Ah, yes? How was the exam?"

"easy" killua gave short answers, hoping the quick it takes the sooner he could get kyriak out of here.

"killua come here" Sliva gesture to the cushions besides him, "I want to listen to your stories"

Killua eyes widened for a moment, glancing towards a distance kyriak who was staring curiously at the dog like beast (that wasn't mike, but another of the creatures the zoldycks trained) sitting beside the older zoldyck. Her eyes flickered to his blue ones, a smile growing on her face as she pulled him towards his father. The slivernet stared at her, had can she be this carefree? Surely, she understands the dangerous situation she is in...

He thought back to the exam for a moment, thinking bad to kyirak and her action in certain situations...

Maybe she had a death wish? Was she hit in a head and knocked the common sense out of her?

He let out an internal sigh, letting the smaller girl pull the boy towards the cushions his father sat. Kyriak settle down onto the soft cushion. She played with the fur, rubbing her hands along the fabric and killua glanced to her and continued to talk to his father.

She couldn't help it.

It was soft and warm – the feeling slowly lulling her softly. She felt it tugging at her mind, slowly pulling her into darkness as she listening to the lumping voices of killua and his father talk about the hunter exam. No longer able to fight it – she let herself be pulled into sleep.

Killua paused mid-sentence feeling a weight leaning against his, glanced to his friend – it felt weird thinking that she was a friend – noticed the girls eyes closed. Ans breathing slowly, strands of her messily cut fringe fell into her face causing her nose to scrunched up slightly in irritation.

He couldn't help but let the small smile tug at his lips as he shifted her sleeping foam. So that her head was laid in his lap a hand protectively placed on her side.

His father made no comment, leaving his thoughts to himself for the moment. Letting his son continued his story of the hunter exam.

Wee little time skip

"gon!" killua shouted in happiness seeing the other younger boy before adding, "plus leorio and kurapika!" as an afterthought. The young zoldyck adjusted the weight on his back walking forward to the group.

"Long time no sees! You managed to get here but you should see your face!" killua pointed out to, looking intently at gons face.

"Yours isn't so great either!" gon point, both younger boys face showing signs of battle or torture in killua's case.

"Where's kyriak?" muttered leorio before kurapika poked his side and pointed. On the zoldyck back held a sleeping kyriak. The girl curled into the boys back – head tucked into his neck it was a cute sight and the way killua move it was as if she weight noting, only one hand holding her in place.

"So, we should leave ne? Whenever but let's go!" gon asked quietly, having already noted the sleeping girl.

"Better hurry before my mother hears, she doesn't want me to leave"
