I got a day off today so I'm taking Tris to the ferris wheel straight after she chooses her job. I hope she chooses initiate trainer, I also hope she doesn't wear a skirt. I woke up this morning in my bed with Tris laying next to me. She opens her eyes and I start tickling her before she can even look around. When I stop she kisses me, I love this girl. "Tris, I have something to say," I tell her, she looks into my eyes. "I love you..." I continue, she just kisses me. "I love you too." She replies, my heart soars. She takes my hand and puts it flat over her heart, it's beating like a drum. I take my hand off and put hers over my heart, she smiles.
We reluctantly get up and she takes a shower while I get my clothes out and dig for something in my backpack. It's a promise ring, it might seem early but I love her more than anything in my life. We switch and I get dressed after a shower. We head down to breakfast, Katniss and Peeta are the only ones that aren't there. Katniss is a leader so she's always in meetings on random Thursdays at 5am. We sit down and get our food, I listen to their conversation. "I walked in there this morning and Peeta was painting a giant field of dandelions on the wall, Katniss was lying on the couch daydreaming." Finch says, we all shrug and some people try to come up with reasons for the strange behaviour.
Once we have finished our food, we go out into the pit. Everyone is gathered here even though they're just picking our jobs. Tris picks initiate trainer and street patrol. Christina picks her own cloths store. Uri joins street patrol with Tris. Will joins the street patrol and I zone out. Peeta gets a choice between fence guard and the lunch hall. He chooses fence guard. When we're all done, I pull with me up all the stairs and onto the roof with the train tracks, we jump on the train. We watch the sun rise. I check my watch, it's only 5:57 am. When you're underground most of your life, you loose a sense of time. We jump off at navy pier and I take her hand again. We get to the ferris wheel and I let her go first.
We get to the top and I turn her around so that she's facing me. I dig out the ring, Tris gives me a raised eyebrow. "It's a promise ring." I tell her, she looks confused. "I promise, one day, in the distant future, I will marry you." I say, she smiles. "I love you but... distant future?" She says, I give her a questioning look. "I promise, one day, I will marry you." She says. We kiss and I take her hand and put the ring on, by some miracle, it fits. I take out a matching chain, "If your sister sees that, we're both dead." I tell her. "It's not about my sister " she says, then she takes the chain anyway. I realise how high up we are, she grabs my arm and sits us down.
Tris P.O.V.
After a while of watching the day develop, we climb down. We make it to the train and jump on, we ride past Erudite and I'm sitting on Tobias' lap. I look at the ring, "It's simple yet beautiful." Tobias says in my ear. I take out the chain, and take off the ring, I don't want to take it off.

I give them to Tobias and he threads the ring onto the chain. Tobias lifts it over my head and clips the ends together at the back. I lean into him and he kisses my hair, then he plays with the ends of my ponytail. We ride around the city until it's nearly dinner, we skipped lunch. We just talked about everything, my sisters, me moving into his apartment, the distant future. We jump off the train and go to dinner. I tuck the necklace into my zipped up, leather jacket. We hold hands as we walk into the hall.
Katniss walks up to me and gives me a hug, "I'm sorry, I don't want to fight. Just, did it have to be my best friend?" She says, I laugh. Then her hand goes to my neck, she pulls out the chain. I give her a smile, "It's a promise ring." I reassure her. Katniss smiles and shows me her fingers, she's engaged. I look over to Peeta who is talking to Tobias and Zeke. They both look so happy. We go over and sit down with our friends, I eat. When we're nearly done Katniss speaks up. "We have an announcement." Katniss says and everyone on the table stops talking. "We're getting married!" Peeta says. Everyone cheers and claps, half the people in the hall look at us.
When we're done celebrating we go to Zeke's apartment and play Candor or Dauntless. "I'm going first!" Zeke yells, and we're off.
