Prologue

I was riding my bicycle going to the store to buy some food, my friends were at our house finishing our final project because the deadline will be tomorrow. I bought some drinks, and snacks so that we can eat while doing the project, I paid for it and goes back to our house na. When I entered the house I saw mom cooking for our lunch, I smelled the aroma of (chicken) adobo, my favorite dish.

"Guess who's gonna have a lot of rice today" my mom sarcastically asked me

" Mom, why did you cook adobo naman? you know I'm on the diet diba?" I told my mom and then we both laughed

I go up to my room, and there I saw my friends...

"almost finish na huh?" -me

"tagal mo kasi. By the way ano ba kasi binili mo?" my friend sha asked me

"here, take a look. Pili na lang kayo , kung ano want niyo" I told them

"C2 nanaman, bakit ba ang hilig mo dito? halos everyday ito nalang baon mo, pati ba naman dito sa house niyo?" - ate ja

I just laughed at her, I know sha and ate ja for almost 10 years na, we met nung Grade 7 pa kami, and guess what graduating na kami this year. Ang saya lang isipin na we've seen each other crying, laughing, and falling in love, we're on each other's side during our breakdown, actually, mas open pa nga kami sa isa't-isa kesa sa parents namin, we're like sisters, I hope we can stay like this forever.

I stopped Imagining things when my phone rang, I looked at it, I saw it was Simon, my boyfriend. I answered the call

/ON-CALL/

"Hello?" I heard the soft voice of Simon, I smiled

"Uhm, why did you call me?" tanong ko sa kanya

he chuckled " I just wanted to ask if free ka mamayang gabi, let's have a dinner?"

I looked at the clock and it was 11:46 am, maybe I can finish my project before or after 6 pm

"yeah sure, at 7 siguro? I'm finishing my project pa eh" sabi ko sa kanya

"No problem, study well," he said and laughed

"I'll hung-up na ha? ate ja and sha are both here kasi, bye" -me

"Umm, bye" sabi niya at pinatay ko na ang tawag

/END CALL/

I saw sha and ate ja smiling while looking at me, I know what was on their mind.

"can you both stop looking at me like that? feels like I did something embarrassing" I told them and sit beside the wall.

I'm now typing on my laptop when mom called us to go downstairs to eat, we looked at each other and agreed to go down. We sat on the chair and my mom prayed for us before we eat. We started eating quietly then after a minute Sha made a topic

"Astasia, san nga pala kayo mag didinner ni Simon mamaya?"

"mag didinner sila ni Simon?" my mom asked Sha, my god I forgot to tell mom

-clears throat- " Simon asked me kasi mom if we can have dinner together daw, I said yes naman cause patapos na ko sa final project ko, I forgot to tell you agad kasi he just called me 30 minutes ago ata" I explained myself to mom

mom smiled and nod "always remember ha, don't go home too late" -mom

" I understand mom" - I smiled back

we continue eating while having a little talk, it's just what are the things we'll do after graduation, what our plans in the future, and things in school. After we eat we go back to my room and continue what we are doing. I finished around 6:30 pm, I told ate Ja and Sha na I'll just prepare myself and they just nod. I go to the bathroom and take a half bath, when I finished dressed up and texted Simon that I'm ready, mom will just take care of my friends nalang daw kasi hindi pa sila tapos, we have different projects kasi, research lang yung akin kaya akin pinakamadali. After a minute Simon texted me na he's in our gate na, so nagpaalam na ko sa kanila and bumaba na.
