During her stay in the cave, she had gained control of her body and started learning to speak with this mouth.

"Do I not use air?"

She was very confused. She'd been here for a couple of weeks now but the air supply was still fine.

"Or was magic used on this place? The fire didn't even use up the oxygen, so I guess it has to be magic. "

"Hmm. I wonder if dragons are common here."

In all the books she'd read, dragons were rather rare, but she decided it would be better to find out for sure.

"I really am an interesting color."

Putting aside her random thoughts, she looked into the water.

'I guess I could head out soon.'

Securing food was the first thing to do. She was tired of fish, but that was all she had.

'Once I get to whatever land there is, vegetables and meat are my first priority. My diet is pretty awful.'

After dragging up a school of fish, she chopped their heads off. Feeling like she'd gotten too good at preparing fish, she baked them.

'I'm really glad spatial magic is a thing, otherwise, I would have issues.'

Shoving the bass into her dimensional storage she thought about her money source. Some of the fish had small pieces of jewelry, or gems in their stomachs, so she was quite confident she was near human society.

That hope ended up being unfounded.

'How many miles has it been now? 60? More? Geez...'

The wind was dying and her wings were trembling, so she recast the flight magic. Despite their shaking she could tell that her wings were getting stronger, as that was where she was focusing the wind. She let out a sigh of relief as she finally saw land.

'I really don't have any idea how rare dragons would be, so it's best to be invisible.'

Turning invisible didn't take much effort, so she upped her speed. As she neared land she saw many whirlpools along the coast.

'That would be pretty treacherous to sail through.'

As a town came into view, she came to the realization that this was an older fashioned world. Some straw roofs were all she needed for that confirmation. This town was quite small, and boats were dragged onto the rocky beach as there wasn't even a proper dock.

'Seems like a fairly new town. I wonder how long ago it was formed?'

Excited to learn but needing a change of diet, she headed towards the biggest house figuring that if there were nobles they would have enough food to spare.

As she was flying down a hall, she heard the sound of voices. One of the voices seemed pretty angry but knowing she had nothing to do with it she ignored them and continued past. Seconds after she passed the door, it flew open. Standing there was a boy around 4 years old with bloodshot, sage green eyes. His pupils were trembling, either from anger or the tears threatening to fall.

She was taken aback by the child's appearance because even in the mess he was, he was a stunning child. With matching hair and eyes, a petite nose wrinkled in annoyance, and a perfect chin.

'Eh, what a gorgeous kid, are all people here that pretty? The hair seems to be natural as well. Guess my color isn't that odd then.'

She was a bright cyan with purple eyes, but was still unaware of her eye color as water isn't the best mirror.

The child stormed down the hall as the second voice flowed out from the room. This voice sounded older and concerned. A man walked out with worry etched on his face. Confused she stared at the man. As he started to walked away, she followed.

She ended up in a bedroom where a woman- she assumed to be his wife - was sitting up on the bed holding a newborn.

'Ah, it was a childish fit of anger at getting a new sibling. Thinking back, I did that too.'

Feeling embarrassed at the memory that popped up, she looked at the woman. She didn't appear to be doing well, as she was pale and her hands were trembling. Concerned, she checked the mana around her.

'Her pulse is weak, is it bloodloss or from childbirth in general?'

Deciding to keep an eye on her, she quickly headed to the kitchen as her stomach had rumbled in annoyance.

After spending a few days at this residence she had picked up on some of the language, now brokenly understanding some conversations. It seemed her ability to absorb information was boosted. The mothers health had thankfully gotten better, and the children had met. They got along better than she expected. She thought that the older kid would despise the younger, but as the mother regained her health, the older child also calmed down.

'Learning to read would be great but knowing how to speak this language would be best to learn first.'

She realized that as this family taught the kid to talk she could learn, so she settled down next to the infant to learn beside him.
