The first week at Hogwarts went by smoothly, with all the children running around campus and finding 'their own hangout spots'. All the first years were too busy running around with their roommates, trying to make friends with their peers, regardless of their houses. Most of them avoided befriending the snobby Slytherins who thought too highly of themselves, of course, there was a few exceptions within that house - specifically, Severus Snape and Nahara Zion.

Severus was friends with Lily Evans, a Gryffindor girl who apparently knew him from before their admission to Hogwarts. They claimed to be childhood friends as they apparently grew up together. No one argued or complained about their bond with each other, instead, their peers preferred to ignore it. Of course, everyone was too preoccupied with making new friends that they refused to judge others for theirs, especially as many tried to befriend a Slytherin to avoid being made a target of verbal abuse by them in the coming days.

Nahara, on the other hand, spent the first day following her twin around as her roommates followed her. The twins spent the whole day together, forcing their friends to be friends with each other, before others discovered that the girls were friendly enough to approach. The girls spent the first day in the Great Hall, while their cousins stayed inside their house's common room. But the efforts of the pair made it easier for others to approach Eralia and Anya, despite their fondness for their roommates, on the following days. Of course, that left everyone else who had not yet spoken to the other two to believe that the Zion's were simply good at pretending to be nice and continued to avoid them.

On the first day, Anya snuck out of her common room, alone and wandered the castle, bumping into a quiet and lonely Remus Lupin who was too busy walking alone. She introduced herself and found out that he was a Gryffindor in his first year, and he clung to his map. She quickly found out that he wanted nothing to do with her and preferred to be left alone, so, after walking with him in silence, she left him to wander around elsewhere. The days prior to her sneaking out was dedicated to her roommates and her becoming close friends, and she quickly found a best friend in Phoebe, where they shared almost everything about themselves to each other.

"Zion," an overconfident voice called out to her as she approached the Great Hall. She turned around and found a smiling Sirius Black beside a smug-faced James Potter. She smiled as she saw them, not particularly keen on having a conversation, the girl hoped that they would leave her alone as quickly as they found her if she smiled politely.

Anya had not noticed before, but a short and plum boy followed behind them, she recognised him as Peter Pettigrew, according to the rumours around the two infamous boys. They had rescued Peter from a group of Slytherin bullies who caught him alone a day or so ago, who were apparently teasing and hexing him. Although Pettigrew was a pureblood, he was also quite chubby and small, making him an easy target for most people. Since Black and Potter's intervention, Peter had decided to follow them around everywhere. It helped him that he was already friends with James, but they kept their distances briefly for the past few days, simply because they wanted to make their own friends, and because Peter felt like he fell into the two boys' shadows whenever he was near them. But he decided that it was only a matter of time till Sirius and James grew used to each other and acknowledged the rest of the world; he recognised that the two boys reacted to each other like magnets and saw each other as living toys. He was certain that his friendship with James would be reinstated as the strongest as soon as Sirius Black became a much more familiar presence for the tallest of them three.

"Hi," Anya said, mostly greeting Peter, who did not know anything about her, aside from her name. Peter smiled and waved at her, James and Sirius saw him from their peripheral views but did not react. The thing about the Zion's unusual relationship with the Black and Potter boys was that they rarely had to talk to each other to acknowledge one another. She stared at the three boys, waiting for them to say something more until it became clear to her that they were simply being polite as they gathered for dinner. She walked ahead of them and did not look back as she approached the Ravenclaw table and sunk beside Kylennia, opposite Phoebe and Pandora. She exchanged greetings before turning around to see her cousins happily taking to their roommates.
