"Momma can I have some of yo food?" Hasen asked looking at her mother who sat at the table.

"Go ahead Hase, damn." Her mother said

"Janet don't act like that with my baby." Her father spoke coming in the kitchen

"You let her eat your food then, she gon say she want some knowing damn well she gon eat it all." Her mother spoke looking at Hasen who had a mouthful of food.

"Huh?" Hasen spoke with food in her mouth

"What I tell you bout that? Don't talk with food in yo mouth nasty." Janet said eating her bowl of oatmeal

"Daddy!" Mila called walking in the kitchen getting ready to ask something her mother would say no to.

Mila and Mia had a different father from Hasen.

Their mother left their father after he told her he didn't want them. A few years later she got with Hasen's father, he accepted them all and treated them as his own. And when Hasen was born there was no different.

"No." Janet said answering the question she didnt even get the chance to ask.

"Momma, you didn't even know what I was going to ask." Mila said

"I dont care. Just know it's a no." Janet said, before turning her attention to Hasen

"Hasen.." Janet called her name, Hasen didn't respond. She called her name again to not get a response.

Hasen turned her hearing aid on seeing her mother say something.

"Huh?" Hasen asked with furrowed eyebrows

"You need to stop turning that off, Hase. What if I'm saying something important?" Janet asked and Hasen shrugged her shoulders

"That boy came on time yesterday?" Janet asked referring to True.

"No, and he was rude. He acts like a child." Hasen said

"I believe he's 17 or 18." Janet spoke and Mila looked at them

"Who yall talking about?" Mila asked being nosy

"Ms.Netty grandson True." Janet spoke

"Mhmm he's cute. You mess with him?" Mila asked looking at Hasen

"Did you hear me say that?" Hasen asked tilting her head at the dumb questions

"Momma Darius and Asia coming over." Mila said and Janet looked at her like she was crazy

"You asking me or telling me?" Janet asked raising her eyebrow

"Momma can Darius and Asia come over please?" Mila asked and Janet looked Mila up and down

"Yea, Mila don't fuck my house up or that's you and yo friends ass." Janet said standing up putting her bowl and cup away

"Jan, come on!" Their father yelled and Janet sucked her teeth, grabbing her things

"I love yall, kiss Mia for me." Janet spoke quickly kissing their cheeks and leaving.

"Hell naw bra" Hasen heard Darius speak as she sat on the couch reading her book

"Why she in here?" Darius asked Mia and Mila

"Do you have a problem? This is MY house. Your welcomed to leave." Hasen spoke never looking up from her book
