I woke up to my alarm going off. I groaned and rolled over to turn it off to stop the annoying sound.
Within minutes, the blinds opened and the bathroom light turned on. The light from the window immediately started spilling through coating my furniture and blinding me slightly.
I jumped out of bed and went straight into the bathroom. If I hadn't asked Friday to follow these commands every school day there was no way I would be able to make it into school every day.
My bare feet felt cold against the cool tiles of the floor, slowly waking me up for another identical school day.
I turned the shower on, letting the water heat up as I started brushing my teeth and washing my face. I stared at my appearance for a minute, taking in my morning face before I took a quick shower and blow-dried my hair, getting dressed into some simple ripped jeans and a hoodie, casual and comfy.
I sprayed on a little perfume and put on a little lip gloss and mascara, completely ready now to start my day.
I was an avenger, yes, but all the adults believed it was important I still received an education, so I was enrolled into mid-town high, the same school Peter went to.
Having never been to school before, I had quite a stressful first few months trying to catch up and stay on top of new work, but everyone graciously helped me through it.
I grabbed my school bag and walked into the kitchen where Steve was already eating breakfast. "Bye I'm late" I called out, trying to speed past Steve.
"No you're not" he said as he pulled me back by my schoolbag, stopping me in my place.
"Eat" he said, pointing to a plate of eggs.
"I don't like eggs" I said, trying to pull my best puppy dog eyes.
"You know breakfast is the most important meal of the day" he started ranting, and I knew this was a prepared lecture,
"But food this early in the morning is gross" I argued.
Steve placed one arm beside my plate and the other on my chair, trapping me. I sighed as I started eating. There was no arguing with Captain America.
I joined the avengers two years ago and all the members were like family to me, considering I don't remember my own. I have no recollection of my childhood, which terrified me for quite a while, but I learned to live with it.
Natasha and Wanda were the closest I had to a mother figure, Steve was like my protective older brother or dad, Pietro was my best friend and the rest were like my annoying brothers. I loved my big family.
I finished my eggs, chugging the glass of water and placed it on the table as well and Steve smiled "see ya later kiddo" he said as he ruffled my hair, ruining the top of it.
I sighed as I smoothed it out and shot Sam a glare, who was laughing as he sipped his coffee, witnessing it all.
I walked out of the tower and got into the car parked out front. " Hi Happy" I said cheerfully and he smiled in return. He didn't hate me, but sometimes my personality was "too much at once", according to him.
"Hi Pete" I said to the boy next to me.
Peter was someone I had met when I first joined and now he was one of my very good friends, not as close as Pietro but close. We instantly clicked when we met, goingfrom strangers to friends in a matter of minutes.
I sat back, putting my airpod in as I handed the other to Peter. I pressed shuffle on my Spanish playlist and both of us listened to music in a comfortable silence as Happy started driving to our school.
