As we were walking into the door of the party center, everyone shouts happy birthdays to Nala. The look on her face was priceless. We kept the party as small as we could containing just our families and her closest friends.
Nala isn't really into big event and having the spotlight on her, but I think she'll eventually grow out of that.

My gut tells me she's gonna do great things and be someone important to a lot of people wether it's by her mates side or by my side... her mate. Those words still hold an unlikable feeling on my tongue.

We started walking around the room to talk to some of our friends whom we train with. We all talk about Nala and how much she's improved over the years for a little bit before she pulls me away to her mother. They start talking and her mother tell's her how proud of the grown woman she's become and all the cliché saying that a parents tell you when you turn another age each year. I can tell her mother supports her either way, but I know she truly desires to see her with her true mate. It bothers me a little but I can't be mad for a mother wanting her true mate for her daughter.

Nala finally turns to me with a sly smirk and pulls me towards the bar.

"Oh no I'm not getting drunk again."

She laughs then shakes her head at me.

"Who said anything about getting blacked out drunk. I just wanna take at least two shots to loosen me up a little, care to join?" She says while handing me two shot glasses of a mysteriously dark liquid.

I sniff if and immediately start gagging.

"Don't sniff it! It's just crown! Knock them back." She shouts over the much louder music.

I knock the shots back as she called it and turn to see she has already finished hers causing me to frown and her to laugh at me yet again. How she can drink this horrible drink with no reaction or gagging is beyond me!

"I'm kinda hungry and I know you haven't ate all day. Let's eat something and you can fill me in on the Beta." She says pulling me towards the buffet.

There was two tables that had all kinds of food sprawled out. There was chicken, a whole roasted pig, ribs, brisket, and even rabbit. Anyone that knows me knows I'm gonna go for the ribs. For the sides there was everything you could think of but I decided on some macaroni, potato salad, deviled egg, corn bread, and green bean.

When we finally sit down to enjoy our delicious meal, I start filling her in on the Beta Tanner situation and she even seemed to think that he was a nice guy that was having a hard life. She agreed with my father that we should continue to keep an eye on him, but other than that she believes he could be trusted eventually. It was too soon to fully trust him even with my father knowing him, but at the end of the day he was still working with the enemy to live. It was a complicated situation.

After cleaning up our plates I look to Nala and ask her what she would like to do next. She decide on playing a round of corn hole and pouted when I beat her twice so when she called for a rematch of winner take all of course I had to let her win. The reaction she had when she won made it worth it. She always got competitive with games. In other words, she could be a real sore loser at times, but seeing the smile and excitement on her face when she won a game would make anyone smile!

Now we were back to the whole what do you wanna do thing again and she finally decide on dancing. We walked to the dance floor well more like she dragged me to the dance floor where we met up with Ralph and Noah.
We all started dancing and singing along to every song that came on.

If anyone who didn't know us seen us they would think we were just a bunk of crazy kids living, but in reality we all knew this was probably the last time we would all be together for awhile.
It was sentimental but a blast at the same time.
