The Last Seven - a BTS AU Story

Chapter 1 - Stuck Alone

Amidst a dry and deserted battleground, littered with the remains of the last battle, stood a small cottage, its wooden planks drying out in the sun. Inside this small abode, a young boy sat, staring at the remains of his inadequate lunch. His handsome eyes were itching with tiredness, his sleek and straight black hair slightly messy. He then took out a small piece of paper from his pocket. On it was a small drawing of two boys playing in a flower-filled garden. There was also a label stuck near the taller of the boys, "My bro Seokjin." Seokjin smiled sadly at his brother's handiwork. He gently moved his hand against the worn out parchment, trying to feel the warmth of the hand that drew it. Seokjin felt his heart ache as he remembered his family. They had been mercilessly murdered by aliens during the sudden apocalypse. Seokjin hesitantly blinked back his tears, grabbed a box of nuts from the counter and climbed the stairs to a door on the upper landing. Taking a deep breath, Seokjin entered the room.

 
It was full of twittering, cooing and squawking birds. Birds of every colour, shape and size twittered excitedly through cages. Seokjin felt his mind ease as he stepped into the room, poking a few nuts through the bars of the cages. As he approached the cage of two lovebirds, they chirped reproachfully, demanding to be let out. Seokjin smiled and said, " I know, but I have no choice. You're better off here than as dead meat to those aliens." After feeding all the birds, Seokjin sat on his desk. It had nothing on it other than a birdcage covered with a dark curtain. Inside it was a dead dove, which Seokjin had retrieved from the battlefield. Everyday he just stared silently at it for a while before hunting for food. Today, however, was different. The cage rattled violently as Seokjin approached it. Something seemed to be cooing frantically inside. Seokjin was shocked. 

The dove had sprung up alive.
