The boys retreated back to the island using the Teleporter Taehyung had used and began to make preparations and plan their mission of defeating the aliens. So far, their efforts seemed easy for the aliens to deduce, and their options were becoming much restrained. Each of their options seemed much more unlikely than the rest. “At this rate, we’ll never defeat them,” Jimin said, exasperated, as he lay on the sandy shore, a few weeks after they had met the girl. “Cheer up, hyung. We might get an idea soon,” Jungkook replied from his perch on one of the rocks. Jimin looked at him. “I know we can, but how is what I don’t know,” he said. Jungkook said nothing in reply, but moodily kicked a stone into the thicket. Something clanged in reply in the clump of trees. The boys’ attention turned to the thicket. “What is that?” Seokjin asked. “Only way to find out,” Yoongi answered, and made his way to the thicket. “Yah, hyung! Why’re you going there?! I got captured once in that place,” Jimin called. Yoongi turned and laughed. “I didn’t say I was going alone,” he said, "Come on." The boys got to their feet and slowly made their way to the thicket.
The boys stepped deeper into the clump of trees, occasionally doubling back to see if someone had tripped over the creepers. “Jungkook, how can you kick this far?” Namjoon asked a few minutes later. They seemed to be nearing the coast of the island. Jungkook shrugged, smiling. They searched and searched until noon, as the sun began to shine overhead like a glowing orb. Taehyung wiped the sweat off of his brow. "There's nothing here," he fretted. Hoseok let out an audible gasp. "What is it, hyung?" Jimin asked. "Look over there, by the shore!" came Hoseok's reply. The boys broke into a run to see what was down there.
At the coast of the island, where the vegetation was much greater, sat an ancient temple. It had bronze platings all over it and shone gold in the sun. Its doors were whittled out of wood, with two sculptures of menacing dragons facing the sea. The boys were dumbstruck at this splendour. "It looks awesome!" Jungkook said, his wide eyes reflecting the temple. "Should we go in?" Yoongi asked uncertainly. Taehyung nodded and pushed the heavy doors open.
It looked magnificent from the inside. Many delicate statues of gold and bronze were placed in ritual orders. The walls, despite the creeping moss, still looked fresh. Words in ancient languages were written on the walls. The boys could do nothing but state in amazement. "This looks amazing!" Taehyung said, his face lit up into a box-like smile. "I think this is the temple where the Princes of the Violetta Province were found last, " Yoongi replied, "You've heard of the myth right?" "Yeah, I have. But this temple doesn't match the myth description…" Namjoon said, as he moved his hand over the brick walls. Suddenly, the brick on which his hand was on split into a crack. Namjoon withdrew his hand, surprised. "This is why we don't trust you with delicate stuff Namjoon," Seokjin said, rolling his eyes. "This doesn't seem like Joon hyung's doing, hyung," Taehyung said. The brick slid back, creating a dent in the wall. Then, from some corner of the room, the sound of a door opening startled the boys (Hoseok literally jumped on Jungkook, who was struggling to get free). "W-what was that?!" Hoseok screamed, getting down from Jungkook's back. "I think it's coming from there," Jungkook said, pointing to an entire wall of the room dedicated to rituals. A large golden statue of an ancient god stood a few meters in front of it and blocked the dialects written on the wall. But, there was no wall to block. There seemed to have been a hidden door behind the statue which opened into a dark and long tunnel. The boys crept behind the statue to take a closer look. The tunnel seemed to stretch into nothingness, and seemed annoyingly long. "I don't think we're going in there," Namjoon said. The boys turned to him, surprised. "Don't chicken out hyung. You'll miss out," Taehyung said with a bright smile. Namjoon rolled his eyes. "Haven't you read Tunnels?" "Absolutely not, so let's go in," Jimin said from his relaxing place on Seokjin's back, "Besides, this could serve as a hiding spot." The others nodded and they made their way through the tunnel. Namjoon gave the same expression he had given when Taehyung had scared the other two maknaes in the thicket and followed suit.
