As the sky outside began to darken, the boys exited the cave and began the long walk back to Namjoon's home. Seokjin led the group, with a firelit log to illuminate the way. The maknaes brought up the rear, Taehyung holding onto the other two for support. They walked for long hours with no sign of a hideout. "Jin hyung, how much longer?" Jungkook asked tiredly, some hours after their departure. Seokjin turned to him, "Not yet, Jungkook. There's no sign of a hideout here," he said. "It's almost daybreak hyung," Namjoon said, indicating the now slowly illuminating sky. Seokjin replied, "There is a tent over there. If you want, we can all stay there." He held up his torch to make the tent visible. Taehyung's drowsiness left him as he saw the tent. "That's mine!" he exclaimed happily. "Keep your voice down Tae, aliens might have begun patrol duty," Hoseok muttered. Quickening their pace, the boys reached the tent in a few minutes. Just as the day broke, they slipped inside. Taehyung threw himself on his bed, smiling. "I'd never thought I'd be back here in peace again," he said happily. "I've come here too, it's very neat," Jimin replied from his perch on the table. Everyone soon settled in that small tent and bagan to chat freely, something they've never done in months. Seokjin regaled them all with stories of his family, Yoongi shared his experiences as a music composer and all of the songs he had written, Hoseok revealed that he used to be part of a dance group called Neuron, Namjoon shared his times as a sailor, Jimin revealed some of his best-kept memories of high school, (it transpired that Jimin and Taehyung had met in high school but didn't recognize each other when they met in the forest), Taehyung narrated many funny tales with his friends, and Jungkook shared many valuable memories with his puppies. The rest of the morning was spent happily enough, but not for long.
As mid-day came, two aliens entered the tent. Yoongi quickly alerted the rest and they hid under the bed (with much difficulty, as half of them were extremely tall). "Stop kicking my stomach Jungkook!" Seokjin whisper-shouted a few minutes later. The aliens hadn't left and were still searching the tent. Jungkook whispered something back which greatly annoyed Seokjin, who was now scolding Jungkook at lightning speed. Jimin, who was stuck in between them, said furiously, "I've inhaled a lot of dust because of you guys squashing me, stop it." Hoseok kicked him from the back : the aliens heard that and were searching furiously. Taehyung was busy searching for something from his hiding place. "What the hell are you doing?" Namjoon asked quietly. Taehyung didn't reply; he had found a small penknife and was busy cutting a hole on the canvas with much difficulty, as Yoongi was squashed at the end, and couldn't move aside. "Guys, in here," Taehyung whispered. One by one, the boys crawled out through the hole and snuck out of sight. The boys walked on for a few more hours, Jin and Jungkook bickering on the way, and Taehyung holding onto Namjoon for support.
"Can you two shut up for a minute?" Namjoon asked, exasperated. They had all reached a plateau and were settling themselves there. The afternoon sun had set in, making the boys stop for some shade and shelter. "And here I am thinking Jin hyung is the mature one," Taehyung added. Jin and Jungkook stopped bickering, but kept throwing dirty glances at each other. Yoongi sighed and sat on one of the rocks. "Now what?" he asked. No one knew what to do. Jimin was busy keeping a lookout using his spyglass. "Namjoon hyung, is that your house?" he asked a few minutes later. Namjoon got up and stood next to Jimin, who handed him the spyglass. "Can you see a black boat-like thing? It has tiny doors on it, so I thought it might be yours," he said while Namjoon observed the place. "Yep, that's mine. It doesn't look too far away, so we'll reach there by tonight," he announced to the other five. They stayed at the plateau and set off after the sun had set over the dry and barren landscape. Namjoon led the pack this time, for he knew the route back to his home. Taehyung's ankle hadn't quite healed yet, so Jin and Jungkook volunteered to help him out. This was a bad idea, Taehyung felt, for the two resumed their bickering again. "I know how you felt back at the tent Jimin," he said, a note of annoyance in his tone. Jimin grimaced. "We're here guys," Namjoon announced. They had reached a cliff, where the shipwreck Jimin had seen sat. It looked like one strong wave front he sea could knock it over. Namjoon opened the main door and led them all in. It was crammed with a lot of animals and birds. The colours of the rainbow flocked in front of them all. A cute parrot even settled itself on Jimin's shoulder, pecking him affectionately. Namjoon led them all to his room. Everyone soon settled themselves in the small room. "You have too many pets, don't you hyungnim?" Taehyung asked Namjoon as Hoseok bound his ankle with a bandage. Namjoon replied, "I just managed to save them right after the apocalypse, they've been with me for some time now." "I have the same story too, but it's with birds and not animals," Seokjin revealed. "You sure no aliens will come by here?" Jungkook asked, fighting to keep his voice calm. Namjoon nodded. After a few quiet minutes of lunch, the boys rested for a while. Nearly everyone had fallen asleep, except for Seokjin, who lay close to Yoongi, thinking about their situation if they had stood against the aliens. It had been bad enough even when they stayed put, but now unimaginable horrors sprung up in Seokjin's mind as he thought of their resistance. "Hyungnim?" Yoongi asked tiredly after waking up, "Hadn't you slept?" Seokjin was quiet for a while. "Couldn't sleep, just thinking about the aliens," he admitted. Yoongi gave a wan smile and said, "We'll be okay, hyung. Once everyone wakes up, we can start on the boat and leave this place as soon as possible." "Yeah, maybe you're right." Yoongi gave another smile and closed his eyes to sleep again. But Seokjin still couldn't sleep, so he left the room and looked after all of the animals Namjoon had. The animals too have noticed that Seokjin was kind and not here to hurt them and began to get along with him.
