Back at the island, Seokjin was sitting with his back resting against a tree while the others were discussing their future plans. He still couldn’t keep his eyes off of Taehyung, who was staring at the picture Namjoon had given him with sullen eyes. He naturally felt worried about him, but he wanted to give his friend the time he needed to get over Woosik’s death : he had to go through the same after all. Seokjin sighed and looked at the sky above him, a bright blue stretch that seemed to tell him that everything was alright, although the world wasn’t. Seokjin was just thinking about it when Jimin came up to him and sat down next to him. “Hyungnim, you’ve been awfully quiet.” Jimin fretted, “What’s up?” Seokjin shook his head and patted Jimin’s arm. “It’s nothing Jiminie.” Jimin raised his eyebrows. “Can’t fool me hyung. Spit it out.” Seokjin sighed. “It’s Tae. I’m just a bit worried for him. After…” Jimin smiled and rested an arm on his hyung’s shoulder. “It’s okay. He needs his time, that’s all.” Seokjin nodded and turned back to the sky. Just then, Yoongi, who had been exploring the wooded region of the island, burst out of it in fear. “Guys run! They’re here!” was his strangled cry before he reached out for his bow and shot a well-aimed arrow at an alien which had unexpectedly sneaked up behind him. The others too grabbed their weapons and began fighting with the hoard of aliens that had unexpectedly popped out of the wood. Hoseok, who was battling them with his quarterstaff, saw something that shocked him. A dove, as pure and white as snow, flying above the fight. A strange purple glow surrounded it, and was accompanied with a small trace of blue and yellow. Hoseok was momentarily distracted, which allowed the alien he was battling with to shoot him with one of the machine guns. It hit his chest, but didn’t kill him. Instead, it immobilised his body so much that it hurt. Yoongi, who was firing arrows in the battle, saw Hoseok fall and tried to run to him, but was struck with the gun too. Jimin tried to fight his way through the battle to get to his hyungs but was hit too. Taehyung saw his friend fall and, not wanting to lose his friends like Wooshik, ran to them, but fell with a scream as one of the aliens fired a well-aimed bullet at him. Jungkook saw him, and ran, but was immobilised too.  Namjoon and Seokjin ran to their friends, but were struck and now immobilised. All of them were stuck in their bodies, unable to move. Aliens surrounded them and pulled them to their feet. One by one they took the weapons away and steered them towards a secret portal-like thing. One by one, with their newly-caught prisoners, they stepped into the circle of darkness.

They entered a secret lab-like room. Hoseok looked up to only recognize it as the room where he was brought in to slavery by the aliens, a few decades forward. There were 12 pods, five already occupied with boys younger than Jungkook. They looked pale and on the brink of death. Before any of them could get a closer look, they were steered into a smaller room where seven rickety chairs were. They were forced into one each, the invisible cords still binding them. Something, or someone, stood in front of all of them, his face hidden in shadow. Jungkook threw that figure’s back a glare so angry Hoseok thought that it would set on fire. Taehyung looked around in fear, still trying to free himself. “Well, it’s nice to finally meet you all,” the hooded figure said in a monotone voice. Namjoon asked calmly, “Who the hell are you?” The figure turned and pulled his hood down. Everyone was shocked into silence, Seokjin actually gasped. Jungkook’s glare somehow morphed into a wide-eyed stare, like a child getting lost in an amusement park. Taehyung whispered in fear, “No way you can be human…”

The man, whose black hair and scarred face was thrown into even scarier emotions because of the light, laughed a maniacal giggle. “Why can’t I be, huh?” Yoongi whispered, almost to himself, “Every human was killed…” “You really are some dumb kids are you?” the man asked, “I was the one who started this whole apocalypse!” “But why though? Isn’t it just a waste of time?” Jimin asked, slightly shaky.  “I’ve managed to find the secret of external life itself! Why search the heavens when you can create them on Earth?” “But you killed many in the process, did you realise that?!” Seokjin shouted, his eyes brimming with tears. The man stepped to Seokjin and pulled him by the shirt. “Do I look like I care, boy?” he spat, “As long as I find life’s secret, nothing can go wrong. All those lives won’t be a waste, not even your brother’s…” Hoseok noticed a tear trickle down Seokjin’s cheek and felt his heart ache. The man let go of Seokjin’s shirt and stepped back to his original position. “It’s time for a generation to arise, a new one. The Second Generation begins now, with you twelve.” “Twelve?” Jungkook asked shakily; Hoseok knew what he was thinking about, “You’ve been using those five kids to produce your own benefits?” The man laughed again. “I’m so glad you’re observant, kiddo!”
