His Return

Zach's POV

Zach was holding his arm, blood soaking through his scout rain cape. He winced in pain, his short brown hair was steaming as titan blood evaporated. He looked down at his ODM gear, seeing the blades in it's holsters. He was down to one on both sides, and he still had a mile to the wall. He whistled as loud as he could, and his horse came running up.

Zach: (with a soft chuckle) Good girl Leo.

Zach gave her a pat, climbing onto the saddle. Riding towards the wall, he slumped over the saddle, feeling as if he would fall off. He was losing alot of blood.

Flashback

Zach fires an anchor at a titan, hitting it's chest, flying under it's arm and up towards it's nape, slicing it clean. He fired a anchor at a nearby tree, the anchor latched on and Zach sped towards it, turning at the last second, firing his left anchor into the titan's neck, as Zach was getting pulled towards the titan he began spinning, detaching the hook and slicing the titan's nape. A titan with a large smile reached down for Zach, he turned and saw the wagon with Mikasa, and Eren. "Don't worry, I will return." He fired an anchor into the ground to the right of him, just nearly dodging the titan's grasp. He fired his left anchor into a tree, right of the titan, slicing the Achilles tendon on both legs, going vertical using his gas. falling gracefully, slicing the titan's nape with a downward strike.

End Flashback

Armin's POV

Armin was sitting atop the wall, looking out for any sign of Zach, a galloping horse was all I could hear. My eyes widened. "Could it be?" Armin thought to himself. 

Mikasa: Armin?

Armin turned around to see Mikasa and Eren standing there, looking at me puzzled.

Armin: Follow me, I saw something out there.

Armin started running towards the section of wall where the horse had stopped. They looked over the wall, seeing a scout on it's back. Mikasa looked over and saw the black mane and white skintone of the horse. Her face lit up and tears began to fill her eyes as Eren launched himself down to grab the scout.

Mikasa: A-Armin is t-that?

Armin looked at Mikasa, tears began filling his eyes.

Armin: (trying to hold back his tears) I-it looks like it. B-but we can't be sure.

Eren scooped up the scout, and began climbing the wall.

Scout: E-eren?

Eren: I-it's me, just hang on.

The Scout went limp, breathing lightly. He was alive, but berely. Mikasa ran up to Eren and the scout. Tears falling down her face and onto the wall. She looked at the Scout's face and saw her lover, Zach. She hugged him tightly and wailed into the night sky, causing Erwin, Levi, Hange, Krista, Sasha, Jean, and Connie to come running. They stopped wide eyed, all looking like they've seen a ghost. 

All Except Levi, and Erwin: Zach?!

They ran up to him to make sure he was real, which he was. They saw the blood, his single blade in both slots of his ODM Gear. They hugged him crying, They thought he was dead, risking his life for his friend's escape. Zach's muscled cramped as he raised his hand and touched Mikasa's cheek, His eyes opened slightly.

Zach: H-hey Mika (He Coughed alittle, blood coming out of his mouth.) Miss me? (He said with a slight chuckle before passing out.)

Mikasa: Z-Zach! Commander, Do something! Please!

Commander Erwin ran up, looking at Zach, seeing his injuries and gasped.

Erwin: How is he even still alive? Doesn't matter, we need to get him bandaged and fixed up, Eren, Connie and Jean, Get him to the Infirmary ASAP. Mikasa, Stay with your boyfriend. Everyone else can visit in the morning.

Jean and Connie took Zach's Legs while Eren and Mikasa took his arms, carrying him to the infirmary. They got there a few minutes later, setting Zach on the cot, Jean immediately ran for a nurse. When the nurse got in she gasped and ran for a doctor, as she did her best to bandage the wounded soldier, Mikasa sat beside him, with a worried look on her face. The doctor came in an checked on Zach, Mikasa looked at him.

Doctor: He'll live, He honestly is Lucky to be alive, he nearly got his arm ripped off, ribs are broken, and he's lost a lot of blood. It will take him a few weeks to recover.

Mikasa looked at Zach, his glasses lay on the nightstand beside him, the strap that made sure they didn't fall off mid-flight was worn, almost to snapping. She out her head on his arm, tears running down her cheeks.

Mikasa (Softly): Why did you do something so stupid Medrek?
