I shut my eyes while I sprinted towards the screen. Half of me prayed that I would make it through, but half of me didn't. I felt a light under my closed eyes. I slowly opened them. I was in a flowery meadow, and everything was blocks. I then turned around to a big, diamond mansion.

I walked in the metal door. When I got in, I couldn't believe my eyes. Gold and diamond were everywhere. Fancy objects were in the best spaces. There was a beautiful fountain in the middle of the house. I walked up to it and looked down.

There I was, a Minecraft character. Brown hair, blue eyes and a blue shirt. It shocked me how much I looked like my brother. Was I really this guy before I got a memory wipe? Before I became human? Right next to the fountain was a chest. The curiosity got the better of me and I opened it. All that was in it a bunch of clothes. I touched it and realized it wasn't clothes at all; it was armor!

This must be the armor Paige was talking about. "I see you've found the armor." I jumped, and whirled around to see a red headed girl with green eyes. This must be Paige's virtual character! "Hi Paige," I said. "How are you talking?"

"It's a command the Kinect can do," she said. "I don't use it often though, because it freaks other people out."

"Oh," I said. "So how are we going to fix my arm?" "We use a potion," Paige said. "The healing potion. I think I have one in my chest."

She walked over to her chest and opened it. After a minute, she closed it. "I don't have any more," she said. "What will we do?" I fretted. "My mom will be here soon!"

"Well, I guess we'll have to gather the ingredients," Paige simply said. "I'll look them up." She walked over a book and opened it. Another minute passed.

She then looked up. "We have some ingredients that need to be collected, some that I own. I have an Awkward Potion and a melon. But we need a Nether Wart and a gold nugget."

"I don't know if this will mean anything," I said while rummaging through my pocket. I pulled it out. "But it somehow got in my pocket when I was tied up. I don't really know what it is, though." I looked down at the red seed-like things in my hand.

"Yes!" Paige said. "What?" I asked. "That's not a thing," Paige explained. "That is a Nether Wart."

"Oh," I said. "Cool." "So now all we need is a gold nugget," Paige said. "Okay," I said. "Where are we going to get that?"

"I got a mine in my basement," she said. "Maybe you can mine. I know there's some gold in there."

I felt kind of scared. "But what if..." Paige shushed me. "He won't come down here. I promise you."

I believed her. I took a deep breath and exhaled. "Okay, so where's this mine?"

•••••••

I walked down the stone steps to the mine. Rubble and stone bricks were everywhere. There little openings through walls. I stepped through it and found more rubble and openings. I kept going until I found a solid wall that Paige hadn't mined yet. I took out the diamond pickaxe Paige lent me and mined it. It seemed like right when I hit the block it broke. The diamond must be strong. I mined the blocks and made a tunnel for myself. I kept mining when I suddenly felt hot.

I mined some more. Then, I mined a block and out came a red, glowing liquid that lit up the room. It seeped through my tunnel. My eyes widened as I realized the liquid was lava! I mined away from the lava out of panic. After a while of mining I came upon a clearing. In the clearing, I spotted a cave. Curious to see what was inside it, I hurried towards it. I wasn't prepared for what I saw. Gold surrounded the room.

I smiled to myself. I hit the jackpot.

•••••••••••

I walked back up the steps from the mine. All of that gold collecting was a bunch of work. "I'm back," I announced.

Paige rushed over to me. "Did you find anything?" she asked anxiously. "Is this enough?" I asked her as I poured out my whole stash of gold. Her eyes widened.

"That's way more than enough!" she exclaimed happily. "Where did you find all of it?"

"Oh you know," I said. "I mined, and found a big cave with gold."

"I just need to make this a gold nugget," she said while picking up a piece of gold and putting it on a crafting table. "And make it into a glistering melon." She put a melon on the table. A moment later she pulled out a gold melon. Then she walked over to the brewing table and set down the Awkward Potion and placed the melon in.

She stirred it up, and the potion turned a bright red. "It's done," she declared. She handed the potion to me. "Now, pour it on your arm."

I grabbed it, and poured it on my arm. It stung, smoke arose from it, then it felt automatically better. I looked at it, and it was just the way it was before Herobrine attacked me. "It's better!" I said.

"Great!" Paige said. "Now we just..." She paused. Then she said, "Your mom is on her way to pick you up."

"We gotta get out of here!" I said. "Okay, grab my hand," Paige said. "One, two three!" I shut my eyes and the next thing I knew I got hurled out of the Kinect.

"Wha-" I began to say. Paige grabbed my arm and tugged me up the stairs. Before I knew it, we were in the area I entered. It felt like I'd entered so long ago.

"We made it," I sighed. The doorbell rung. "In time, too," Paige added. She walked over to the door and opened it.

My mom stood outside the door, smiling. "Hi sweetie," she said. "Is that your girlfriend?" I felt color go to my face. "Moooom," I groaned. "She's just a friend."

Paige stuck out her hand. "I don't believe we've met," she said to my mom.

"I don't either," Mom said. They shook hands. "I'm Paige," Paige said.

"And I'm Clara," Mom said. "But you can call me Mrs. Bok."

"I think we better be going," she said. I waved to Paige. "Bye," I said. "Thanks for having me over."

"Any time," Paige said. My mom and I walked over to the car and got in. She started it up. "What a nice girl," she said.

"Yea," I said. "By the way mom, where are we going?"

"We're going to a greeting party," Mom said. "There is a nice couple, and a boy your age."

"What's his name?" I asked. "Hayden," she replied. "Hayden Brown."

And.... That's the end of the chapter! Nice and long, betcha liked that, huh? What do you think about this Hayden guy? Comment!!!
