Chapter 24

Paige's POV

He said that he loved me.

I stared down at his lifeless body. Blood trickled out of it, leaving a big puddle on the ground. He sacrificed his life to save mine.

Tears spilled down my cheeks.

"Okay, Herobrine, you've gone too far!"

I hear a thwack and a bam, and Ashton and Herobrine are fighting.

"You want to go, Snapp?" Herobrine said. "Let's go."

They tackled each other, pounding and punching. Herobrine punched Ashton in the stomach.

Ashton cried out, and rolled over. Herobrine laughed, and stood up. All of a sudden, Ashton leaped up and pounced on him. Ashton started jabbing Herobrine's face hard.

"Stop!" Herobrine shouted. Was that fear in his voice?

"Never!" Ashton hissed.

With all of his power, Herobrine knocked him backward.

"Fighting you is a waste of time," Herobrine said. "I have better things to be doing. Such as... taking over the human world!"

He held up his hands and strange light came from them. "All monsters... Come to me!"

Then out of nowhere, a sea monsters appeared in Herobrine's lair.

"Monsters, I welcome you," Herobrine said. "Today is the day that we have worked for so long. Today we can finally conquer the human world."

All of the monsters broke out in cheers.

"Now, all we have to do is destroy all of the human world's leaders, and those stupid humans will have no choice but to bow down to me! Will you help me do it?" Herobrine said.

"YES!" the monsters all shouted.

"Excellent!" Herobrine said. "Now... does anyone want the honor of guarding Ashton Snapp and two of Steve's silly little friends?"

All hands shot up, except for the creepers, slimes and magma cubes who had no hands.

He picked one of the endermen, a blaze, a zombie pigman, a ghast and a silverfish.

"Now, my monsters, let's go to The End!" Herobrine declared.

He waved hands and a portal appeared. All of the monsters entered.

Right after all of them entered the portal, it deactivated. The enderman that was guarding the boys and I picked Ashton up.

"Put me down!" Ashton shouted. He thrashed in the enderman's grip.

"You want fire, human?" the blaze asked Ashton.

Ashton stopped moving. The enderman threw Ashton into the cage with Hayden and I.

"Don't try anything," the silverfish said.

And then they locked the cage and walked away. Ashton turned towards me.

"So you're Steve's girlfriend?" Ashton asked me.

"No... I'm just Steve's... friend," I said, face turning red.

"Paige, right?" Ashton said.

I nodded.

"He talked a lot about you," he said. "Steve. He wasn't lying when he told you he loved you."

I didn't know what to say. So I just said, "Oh."

There was a awkward silence. Ashton started up the conversation again.
