-- Kai's POV:
'''
More fucking snow. Ugh, my life.
I glared out the large picture window as I waited patiently for the loser stumbling around behind me to get dressed. And by loser I mean my best friend... Details.
I really don't know how someone could be so klutzy. I didn't even want to look behind me, knowing him he'd have his pants halfway around his neck. The stomping and struggling noises were getting to me though.
"Chanyeol, what are you doing?!"
It was satisfying to yell at the disappointing weather because, Nope. I wasn't about to look at whatever embarrassing mess he was in.
Grunting, he attempted to communicate his malfunction to me.
"There is a ..." He stopped mid-sentence as he struggled more, growling like he was a frustrated dog. The cliff hanger irritated my brain.
"There's a what?"
I gave in and turned around. I was sick of looking at the snow that was falling in he middle of April.
My dopey childhood friend had managed to get all of his clothes on except his pants. Well I'll give him credit he didn’t have his glasses on yet and managed to do all that, it could quite possibly be a new record for him.
"... There's a sock in my pant leg."
He said it so pathetically with that deep voice of his that was even deeper since he just had gotten up. It never fit his dorky, curly haired, tall, skinny appearance but I was long used to it.
As he assessed the issue, he fixed it; finally plucking the white piece of fabric out from his pant leg as he teetered on one foot. I sighed and walked over to the door of his room where I could hear his grandma watching her early morning talk show out in the living room. He's lived with her for as long as I've known him; 9 years now. She's a nice lady, a bit stuck in the last century but jeez; aren't all old people?
Me and Chanyeol are in high school. He's older than me but he's always been in the same grade, I never questioned it and assumed he had to repeat 1st or 2nd grade or something. We met over music; back before we developed our specific tastes we bonded over similar bands we liked, and since I was the awkward new kid I was eager to make friends really anyway I could. Wow that was so long ago. Now I'm more into dance and he's got this garage band with a few other mutual friends. He really cannot dance, it's funny – but, he loves music as much as I do, and it's apparent when he plays. He started with guitar and about 5 exploded eardrums later he moved to bass and then found his calling in drums. He's gotten a lot better in all of the instruments, but he has stuck with the drums now like he's married to them. I dunno, it's fitting for him. He's hyper most of the time so it's natural to see him flailing at something.
Blinking, I realized I was doing that spacing thing again he'd always catch.
"Kai."
I made a frustrated look as I totally predicted that. He had managed to finally get dressed and had his hand outstretched at me like he wanted me to give him something. I gave him a look.
"Glasses."
Looking around, I spotted what he requested sitting on the usual spot – the table closest to me – as he bent over to grab his bag off the floor. Still reaching, I jammed the folded eye wear in his hand and he put them on with one hand, flicking his hair out from the frames.
Squinting, he gave me a skeptical smile. Ah, it was good to see that he had woken up enough for his undefeated smile to kick in.
"You are going to freeze your balls off."
