Chanyeol's POV--

After a few cars passed us, Kai squeezed his eyes shut and facepalmed. I couldn't help but laugh at that, despite the situation.

“But you– why did you– you sounded upset when I found you in the guest room– why were you even up there anyways?!”

I tried so hard not to continue laughing at it all. I knew it pissed Kai off sometimes.

“Well... I was all overwhelmed with... the moment that happened just before that and sorta afraid of what you'd do so I wanted to go.... away from the whole... situation,” My face was burning as I gestured over-exaggeratedly at him. Kai just stared.

“W-Well, okay this whole uh, me-kissing-guys thing is new to me and I was scared! Just a bit... and uh,” I couldn't watch him stare anymore so I looked away.

“I felt alright... with just kissing you, but I was afraid they'd make me kiss other people if I stuck around so I acted tired... and he told me the guest room was quiet. And then I played tetris on my phone,” I sighed, hoping that was enough for him to start talking again.

Oh. I see how it is. It's okay if he smiles at me but I get scowled at.

He started laughing. That was pretty rare and normally I'd try to record it or something but I was distracted by that weird feeling from before, hitting me like a truck. His laugh was contagious even when not paying attention to it. I playfully shoved his shoulder, still sorta confused.

“What? It's that funny?”

He slowly stopped laughing and I prepared to get shoved back. Instead, he surprised me by a sudden hug, hiding his face in my shirt. I blinked. Looking around, warmth started to crawl up my face again.

“Uhhh, Kaiiii...?”

It took a bit for my shock to fade but I hugged him back. Another car passed and my face turned an even brighter shade of red. Out of nowhere, he pushed me back with a grin on his face, punched my arm, and then started walking backwards the way we had been going. I was beyond confused.

But this was the happiest I've ever seen him. Hands down. I slowly started walking after him.

“You're the only person that can give me the silent treatment and yet I can still understand you.” I shook my head at him. He just kept watching me as he hopped backwards, spinning on his heel. I huffed and ran to catch up to him, about to tell him to slow down when an opaque spot landed in the center of my glasses' lens.

Rain. I looked up and realized why it had been so windy suddenly.

“Now you know why I started running,” He said when I finally caught up to him, my eyes widened 'cuz he finally wasn't mute anymore.

“What, you gunna melt?” I probably shouldn't have joked about it because it was coming down pretty hard for how suddenly it appeared. Once again, the bond between me and new hat grew even more. Do you know how annoying it is when rain gets on your glasses? Well if you don't, you're lucky.

I swear, Kai was a machine. He could run for five blocks and not even be winded. In a freaking flash flood, nevertheless. We were almost to his house and I felt like I had jumped into a pool with my clothes on. From behind, Kai's shirt was almost translucent. Oh, bad thoughts. Go away. Not now, please. I didn't even consider mine probably looked like that too, especially since his was gray and mine was, of course, white. Have you even blushed in the rain? It's weird, man.

I was just thanking god that no one could really see us like this when my eyes locked onto this all-too familiar car in Kai's driveway. Oh, no kidding. It was Baekhyun's.
