I had passed that sign three hours ago, and I wondered how far I had gotten in Hope County. The woods were starting to disappear, and what looked like a small city was right ahead. I wondered if there were any sign of humanity left in that small little town.
My legs could barely hold me anymore, and I wondered when they would fail me. I was hoping that I could at least get myself to a nice shelter before they did.
I couldn't see any signs of living in the small, and quiet town. I didn't know if that made me happy, or sad. Nevertheless, I continued in silence over to it. I checked for those things before entering one of the buildings. It was a white, small house. The door was functioning, and it felt cozy.
I closed the door quietly and locked it. I tried my best to cover it with the closest furniture, just for extra safety. I walked up the brown stairs, and headed to the bedroom. It was the room furthest down the corridor. I closed that door as well and locked it before I laid down on the bed. I hadn't felt anything this comfortable in a long time, and it made me fall asleep quickly...

I jolted awake, in panic about what had woken me up. I tossed my legs onto the floor and stood up in a hurry. I looked around the room and spotted a closet. I hurried over and hid inside of it. The closet didn't shut the sound out completely, so I could, relatively well, hear what was going on.
"Haven't we checked this town already?" A silent voice entered my ears.
"Maybe, but this is John's orders, " another voice said.
John? Who is that?
My heart fluttered for a second. The voices, and what they were talking about proved that there were humans left. And they might also have a camp near...
"Do you think there are any supplies left?"
"No. We don't need to look for that. Look for dead freaks or living freaks, "
"Will do..."The voices got quieter. And it seemed like they had walked away from the house that I was in. But I still stayed in that closet. They're looking for people like me. Them seeing me might not be good news for me. So I stayed...

We had entered the fallen town for the second time this week. The note that we had gotten told us that someone was spotted near this town and that they needed to be found.
Both Mike and I thought that there was no one here. It seemed more likely that a freak or two stumbled in here. But we couldn't ignore John's orders.
Mike looked around the small shops, and I looked through the unlocked houses. We figured that anyone, freak or not, that got here chose the unlocked houses.
I walked up to a white-colored house. It was small and seemed like a perfect fit for a person who had been on the run for a while. I tested the door, but it was locked.
"Mike?" I yelled, I turned around and looked for him.
"Here! And what is it?" he yelled back.
"Do we have any records of which houses are locked? I swear I remember this being unlocked!"Mike walked up to me and tested the door.
"No, I don't think we have any records of it, " he started. "But maybe we should write this down, " he said and handed me a pen. "Found this, write on the wall" I took the pen and looked at the white wall.
I started writing with the pen that Mike gave me. It was red, so it was quite visible on the wall. It was difficult to write, but it worked out in the end.
