Chapter 17

I wake up with unbelievable pain. But unbelievable powerfulness through out my body. I feel unstoppable in every way possible.

I try to remember what happened last night and then it all floods me like a ton of bricks. Marked. Carter marked me last night. I am his. Forever.

I feel him shifting next to me under the covers. He wraps his arms around my waist and looks into my eyes. Then he smiles and looks at my neck. Then he grins.

"Good morning, gorgeous." Carter says quietly. I give him a small smile.

"Morning." I say kind of slowly. He smirks at me and kisses my cheek.

"You still don't have the balls to kiss me." I say and then covering my mouth with my hand. He then starts laughing.

"Move your hand." He says raising his eyebrows. I widen my eyes and shake my head.

"It has to be a special moment." He gives me a questionable look.

"Isn't every moment with me a special moment.?" I laugh. And look into his eyes.

"You're a pain in the ass but I lo-" a knock at the door stops me in mid-sentence.

"Come in?" I say kind of as a question. Cole, one of the betas comes in a little.

"Alpha Carter, we have a situation arriving in a months time. Just a warning. But don't worry we have it covered-" Carter cuts him off.

"Who has it covered?"

"August, Dylan, Zachary, Jace, and me." Carter nods.

"Alright." Carter says. Cole then stalks out of my room.

"What's going on?" I ask Carter. He turns around and shakes his head.

"A pack is coming to fight us again. They want you." He hesitates. "But that's not happening on my watch." My eyes kind of widen.

"Why do they want me?" In all seriousness why would they want me?

"You're the most powerful Luna. In all the U.S." I probably looked taken back.

"But-" My stomach growls. "I'm hungry." Carter nods.

"I'll go make you breakfast sweetheart." And with that he walks down the stairs and I'm sitting there with a big ass smile on my face.

Carter and I are sitting on the park bench at the moment by the beach where he grabs my hand and kisses the top of it.

"The whole pack house will be ours in a couple years." Carter says out of nowhere.

"What do you mean.?" He looks at me with those gorgeous eyes.

"I mean once you're ready. You know, start a family. And once that happens we get the pack house to ourselves and everyone sets off. The pack is split up but still always blood together." Carter gives me a small smile and I chuckle a little and look down at the ground.

"The really question here is are you ready?" The moment I say that everything goes still and his smile turns wide.

Carter looks deep into what feels like my heart and soul and leans in. Then, I feel his lips press to mine. Fuck butterflies at this moment. I feel the whole damn zoo. We start kissing and then the pace quickens.

Before I know it we're both on the sand, him on top of me and basically everyone staring but we could care less. He stops as I'm now realizing I was trying to lower his shorts. And I'm not even sorry.

"And you said I didn't have balls." Carter smirks and stands up holding his hand out for me.

We both walk to the car and at this point I feel like a little girl. All light and no care in the world. But there is care in the world. There will soon be another fight. And I can't have anything happen to what seems like a fairy tale, my happy ending might not turn out like a regular story. I can't let that happen.
